Literally. One of the few nights a week there’s no NFL to compete with for viewings. But Especially this early in the year when there’s no NBA yet, and Of course this also happened to be the night in between rounds of MLB playoffs, aaaaand the NHL has 2 games scheduled. Huge wasted opportunity. Granted Pit v Wsh will always draw eyes as long as Sid and Ovi are around. But yea this would’ve been a good night for 7 or 8 decent matchups

Fuckin hate that Anaheim doesn’t start the season till tomorrow night while everyone already played. And they start with a back to back against two of the best teams in the NHL. It’s almost as if they were purposely supposed to get blown out.

Day games are for Europe and the kids. Like a third of the league is European so having three games a week start before European midnight feels fair, no?

The issue is Saturday is generally hockey night, and prior to that there needs to be a lot of travel done so Friday is naturally the day they decide to spend for that.
Ideally they would host inter division games exclusively on Fridays but even then travel is an issue.
