The fact that the cap is supposed to increase pretty generously over the next few years makes this a good deal.
The fact that he could have probably gotten 9+ on the open market makes this a fucking superb deal.

But anyway, great deal, glad he’s sticking around. Probably means Girard or Byram will be traded after this season…. hope they can find a number to keep Byram around when it’s time so they can have a big 3 D core of Makar, Toews and Byram for a while.
