In last night’s edmonton oilers vs vancouver canucks game , it was not pretty for the visiting team. Oilers vs canucks was still entertaining though and we NEED to talk about this. Every oiler was inept yesterday , even connor mcdavid and leon draisaitl . Jack campbell is facing the most heat though, and I can’t help but feel for the guy. Love the Oilers videos and I agree – it’s no problem. Oilers might have been inclined to sit on their laurels and mistake hype for present performance. Now they are reminded right of the bat at they need to show up 100% to win. I say it’s a great start. Campbell hopefully takes the same constructive approach and shakes off the negativity.
Why would you feel sorry for Campbell, he makes $5M a year. Defence is a TEAM game.

I hope Saturday's game is an entertaining closely matched game where both teams put in their best effort. But more likely will be the Canucks falling asleep at the wheel, getting pummelled 6-0 before going winless for the next 8 games. Yup, been a Canucks fan for too long!

I was at the game and the Oilers were out played, out hustled and Connor McDavid was invisible from the when first puck was dropped. Draisaitl's goal was sniper-esqe and that was about it for the Oilmen. Crowd was full of Oilers jerseys and it was nice to see them muzzled. Go Canucks Go!!!!
That's just one of those days it's over and time to move on. Jack Campbell's play was not the reason for the loss you have to recognise the play of the Cannucks and the lucky bounces were there for van . Good luck on Saturday Oilers 👍

Samsonov also let in 4 on 16 shots, and 5 on 19 shots. But the leafs were able to dig themselves out of the hole. Oilers gave up on the game. Contenders? Hope they can figure it out

Get used to it. The oilers are the most over rated team in the league they have a 2 player team. No defense and bad goaltending. They will miss the playoffs this year.

Annnnnnd Skinner comes in and let's in 4 also!🤣 That's a mean, scary, defense the goalies in Edmonton have to deal with out there….their own! Zero teams feel any fear of getting hit anywhere or outworked in the corners against the Oilers.

Sports fans are not known for their sense of perspective. Sure, goaltending and defense are possible issues for Edmonton, but one game does not a season make. Conversely, great game by the Canucks, but it's one game. The rematch has definitely become very interesting,
Jack was not the problem in this game. The oilers did legitimately nothing to help him. Kulak was dreadful, vinnie shouldn’t play in the NHL, and thank god they didn’t give Bouchard a big extension because if last night was any indication then he doesn’t deserve a big fat extension. Before anyone comes at me, I know it’s the first game of the season and the oilers could come out and win the next sixty. But my god the defence was TERRIBLE
Edmonton has had sub par goaltending for the past few years. They've made no changes so how will this year be any different? You can't go through the year hoping your goalie can stop the puck. Campbell has no rebound control and continually overplays the puck. He's always going one way and the pucks going the other. He should be sent down to the minors to work on his game. Edmonton is wasting their cup contending teams by not addressing their goal tending.
The Oilers didn't even show up for the game at all.

I think it’s funny how Edmonton also started camp early, got the team all ready and did all these full team captain skates just to have the worst season opening game.

Campbell and Skinner each had 4 goals against but most were screened shots, deflections and bounces. Every player needs to do a better job of defending and clearing the goalies sight lines.
