Remember how you felt after the 1st game vs the Bolts last year?

Remember the next 2 weeks? WHO CARES

GIVE ME YOUR BATSHIT INSANE TAKES

  2. jerejeje

Remember when we should have put Lafrenière on waivers because he didn’t play well in preseason

  3. NSNSprite

There’s a different vibe and energy about this team already. This season is going to be a fun ride! Buckle up, we’re going to the moon boys.

  4. JuliusDiamond

That was about as complete of a game as I could imagine. And that might be the best game I’ve ever seen Laf played. I gotta say, I didn’t expect that… sooooooo stokered on this season now!!!

  5. PaulSach

Lafreniere had a great game tonight, all around.

Great team effort tn too. All 4 lines and all 3 d pairs looked great.

  6. 32_63n-117_14w

This is what I want from the team. Being tenacious and believing in themselves. They played well and deserved the victory tonight. I hope they keep the momentum going forward

  7. Lavoilette is gonna turn Laf and Chytil into legitimate stars this year if this is how prepared they looked for game 1. Trying not to overreact but that was a very clean performance.

missed you sam glad we back ❤️💙

  9. Fantastic start. Prime Kreider looks beautiful as always giving us two great goals. The defense looked much better than last year. Overall a lot of great stuff we saw tonight!

  10. Teknicsrx7

When was the last time we ended a game at 63% on faceoffs? Had to be back when Boyle was on the team maybe?

  11. the kids showed exactly why they need to play, and play a lot, and play with the top players

unbelievably dominant at even strength, as usual

10/72/13 at 5v5: shot attempts 14-4, shots 10-1, scoring chances 6-0, goals 2-0 91% xGF%. the kids didn’t end up getting much TOI by the end but that’s probably because they already destroyed buffalo at that point and it would’ve been rude to keep playing them

  12. LemonHayes13

Not to be dramatic but we win the cup two years ago with Lav behind the bench

  13. Grouchy-Power-806

I love that hank hasn’t stopped winking at me during his commentary.

I think laffy got robbed of an assist on Panarin’s goal. Definitely touched the puck.

  15. NotFoley

Solid start. Shame about that goal against, not much Igor could have done there.

  16. TimeBetween-Failures

Entire team looked great but Lindgren is so scrappy. What a beast.

  17. Sjdillon10

I love football. But every time hockey starts i realize how damn slow football is

  18. Can I be cautiously optimistic? I loved this game

  19. trafficconejones

Devon Levi is no longer a rookie – his voodoo magic against the Rangers is broken.

  20. LemonHayes13

Laf has shown flashes over the years but has never been able to consistently put it together nor has he really ever had the opportunity to (short leash, etc). As long as Lav gives that 2nd line a large runway, this could be the season it really stars to come together for him.

Your New York Rangers have a better win% than:

    1. New York Liberty
    2. New York Yankees
    3. New York Jets
    4. Gotham FC
    5. New York Mets
    6. New York Red Bulls
    7. NYFC
    8. New York Giants
    9. New York Knicks
    10. Brooklyn Nets
    11. New York Islanders

    **The Rangers run New York**

  22. AsukaUnderscore

A full 60 minute game, something we haven’t seen in a long while

  23. will122589

I propose we just win all the games 5-1. It’s easy viewing and satisfying to watch.

It’s only one game but this has to be cup of cold water to the face of the Sabres who came in thinking they were hot shit and they just got manhandled by a better Rangers team

  24. kiddocontay

WE ARE BACK BOYS! RANGERS HOCKEY IS BACK!!

  25. I was a hater of the Laviolette hire but that was an awesome game. It’s so nice to see this team with structure.

  26. the_mair

Missed y’all – great fucking win

    Let’s go Rangers

  27. Good showing. Complete game which i havent seen in at least a season.

Please…PLEASE. Do not change the top 3 lines. Let them play together and develop the chemistry that we already started to see tonight.

  28. gleyberhood25

That was very enjoyable. Loved the structure and actual game plan. Looked cohesive tonight.

  29. SpaceBass18

Lindgren and Trouba… wow what a game by them

  30. jahauser

Gotta be honest I’m a little confused. We won this game and at no point did I think we’re not winning this game. It was always just, like, yeah. If it takes a goal or a block or a takeaway or whatever, we’re winning this game.

…it feels so weird to win calmly?

  31. BeesVBeads

One of the best overall games this team has played in what feels like years. Less Jekyll and Hyde and more Incredible Hulk.

  32. huskyferretguy1

IDK about you all but I saw a confident team out there tonight! Excited to see what happens the rest of the season! Finally, a good NY-sports team!*

*I’d mention the Liberty but they’re getting destroyed by the Aces.

  33. lionson76

Chrissy’s first goal ended up being the game-winner, breaking a tie with Leetch for 6th most GWGs in franchise history. It was also his 93rd PP goal, 7 away from tying Graves for 4th most in team history. His shorty was the 8th of his career, tying him for 10th most in team history. His 2 goals tonight put him 5 behind Bathgate for 4th most in franchise history.

  34. mattr1198

Total domination in every respect, excellent play from everyone, especially our Dikembe Mutombo-esque defense. Excellent start to the season ![img](emote|t5_2rnpb|8309)

  35. R4vi0981

Dude, I don’t remember the last time the Rangers played conscious defense like that, and blocked shots. Might be since Torts. Very tight game, and I like this system. It’s effective against Buffalo how is a very quick transition team. Well done!

I’m just so happy GDTs are back, love you guys
