He must have studied Pietrangelo tape from last season.

  2. McElligott27

Something he picked up when he was in Montreal.

  3. -cyg-nus-

Slap on the wrist for a slash on the wrist

  4. SonnyHaze

How about PLD? Kings were on a roll last night

  5. realistthoughts

Fine him enough to actually make him think about doing it again

  6. Should be a suspension. Zero room for this in the NHL

  7. Zinfandel_Red1914

$5k fine for something that could have broken his hand? These guys get paid a fuck of a lot more, make the fine actually hurt, then maybe…just maybe they will use their heads for more than just an ornament on their shoulders.

  8. It was against the Avs, so dops does not care enough to give a suspension.

  9. Hattrick_Swayze2

From the Pietrangelo school, I see.

  10. Dmac1721

Throw a reverse hit on someone coming to join the play when you don’t even have the puck, get slashed.

Do dick shit, have dick shit done to you.

  11. Justa_NonReader

These fines need to adjusted for inflation

  12. I wish I could hit people at work, with a hard stick, pay a fine negligible to my salary, take a short break and then just go back to my job.

  13. SilkyBowner

Why wouldn’t you continue to do this. What’s $5k when you can break someone’s hand

  14. TheIncredibleHork

Wheel of morality, turn turn turn,
Tell us the lesson Phil Danault must learn.

    Discipline already?
    Season’s only two days in.
    $5k, go away
Though that slash was quite the sin

  15. Adam_Friedland_TAFS

Poor Ross gets abused everywhere he goes. It’s unreal how this keeps happening to him

  16. rkreutz77

The view from the back didn’t look that bad. But man, the front side looked really awful

  17. cyclingnutla

I was at the game. Saw it happen. I’m a Kings fan but I knew the refs missed this call. Kings played like crap. Why McClellan didn’t pull Talbot is beyond me. If the Kings don’t fix some issues pretty quickly Nashville is going to kick their teeth in.

  18. The zebras were calling a lot last night, but not this.

Gotta maintain the continuity of the game, if we called everything we saw, blah, blah, blah.

  19. wolfofwestkennedy

Fines should be at least 10x that to make it any type of deterrent but then again the players association has a say in that and they care more about protecting players’ money than protecting the players themselves.

  20. georgecostanza37

Looks like 3-5 people per sunday should be getting fined in my beer league

  21. BluejayExternal7842

Colton threw the elbow first, he should have seen it coming.

  22. Silverbuu

oh no… I guess he’s not going out for dinner tonight with some pals. What a shame, that’ll show him. 😛

  23. LastoftheSummerWine

Whoa! He’ll never do that again.

  24. guster-von

Players of this caliber are acting on instinct and reaction. It’s difficult for someone to understand who hasn’t played at a highly competitive level why these things happen. End of the day it goes both ways out there. Get up or heal up and get back out there.

  25. canadiatv

Amongst the ones i’ve seen that aren’t this bad. Usually it’s on the head or in the balls if your name is Lucic.

  26. freezier134a

Fuck that looked like it hurt, right above the glove cuff.

  27. DotAppropriate8152

Wow! Great consistence since Vegas got next to nothing for a much worse slash on Draisaitl in the playoffs. Can’t wait for this joke of a league to fuck up another season.

  28. Vingt-Quatre

If it costs only 5000$ to slash a player, I’m sure some teams would think it’s money well spent to get a rival player sidelined for a month or two or not being able to shoot pucks decently for the next 10 years…

Unless the penalty is different when you do it to a star player? 😉

  29. AlwaysAttack

Besides the fine, if you injure another player like that, and that player misses time, the offender should be suspended without pay until the injured player returns. That will help clean up some of this dirty shit in a hurry.

  30. IWanttoBuyAnArgument

    Add a zero. Maybe two.

Fucker makes 6.75 million, according to cap friendly.

    So a $5,000 fine is .074%.

    That’s a joke.

  31. manhaterxxx

LA gonna be a hated team soon with Danault and PLD ratting it up

  32. dr_van_nostren

It looks to me like he’s going for the stick and was careless.

You could give him a game but he’s a pretty honest player imo and a fine is probably adequate.

For the record I’m a Canucks fan with no allegiance to Danault at all. In fact it would maybe benefit my team if he got a 1-2 game rip I just think it’s unnecessary.

  33. LostBeneathMySkin

To me a blatant slash like that should be at least a game. Not like the wrists are all that important for playing hockey…

  34. spagboltoast

Another day another clip of the kings being dirty af

  35. DENZELWSHNGTN

Wtf does 5000 do? I’ll pay it for him it’s so pointless

  36. Purehate28

So fucked. Def should have been way more than $5k. 100% intent to injure. Without question.

  37. saturnsnephew

Retaliation. Slash on the hands. Intent to injure. Fuck LA.

  38. Box_of_leftover_lego

    “Think he’ll miss games?”

    “Danault”
