I thought Lafferty brought more than Jarnkrok for half the price. Jarnkrok has 5 goals in 86 playoff games. Both stink, one stunk for less.

Outside of just Minten making the team it allows the Leafs to carry a 21-Man roster instead of just the Minimum of 20.

I always wondered why the trade wasn’t for McCabe and Domi in the first place. Lafferty just never made sense except maybe for cap reasons
This allows us to sign Gregor and have about a million in cap space with Timmins on IR

i never really thought he delivered on what he was supposed to be for us. he’s fine but didn’t do much of note
I like what Lafferty brings as a fourth line type. He’s fast, scrappy, and was fairly cheap. Obviously on the bright side, he was made expendable with Minten and other cheaper players looking as good to better, so it’s a good problem to have.
But at the same time, he’d have slotted perfectly at 4RW with Kampf and Gregor. I’m sure Reaves is a great dude and fun in the room, but he’s one of the worst on-ice players I’ve seen in years and locking him in to a bigger contract than Lafferty for a guaranteed 4RW spot just seems like such a waste.
Time to play Mintendo!!
Surprised we got a 5th for him, I was expecting him to be waived tbh. I still think the McCabe/Lafferty trade was worth the 1st and 2nd considering McCabe is a Top 4 D with a cap hit that hovers around what bottom pair players get and Lafferty was the throw in for injury replacements
