Watch very little hockey, but wanted to watch this thanks to Montreal playing (the Habs are my favorite team). I feel like the entire damn town heard my “OH, SHIT!” that night… I knew immediately the way his neck bent on landing that he’d went down on his head. I even said “Yeah… that’s a bad concussion, if he’s lucky: I wouldn’t be surprised if he snapped his neck or something, either.”
I hate being right. Poor Evans: gave up his birthday to play some good hockey, and got a season-ending injury for his selflessness. And the way he landed right on his head, he’s very lucky it wasn’t career-ending… or life-ending.
Things do happen. Scheifele should have been more careful for what happened. I'm a Jets fan yes, and do respect the Habs team as well as their players. I'm happy Jake Evans is doing ok now.
