Unfortunately black people have different standards in hockey. I say this as a black hockey player. We get more physical abuse and the refs do not call a lot of penalties they should. I don't want to say consciously racist but there definitely prejudices towards minorities in the game. Look at what evander Kane went through. Subconsciously many people have a issue with minorities being in hockey. Is what it is. I don't make the rules I'm just a messenger. Some would say it's our fault for playing this game. It's an injustice that we should expect and already be used to. I used to be called the "N" word all the time when I was growing up playing. Now it's not as obvious but the prejudice is still present from how the opponent plays you to the refs unfair treatment. It really does affect you and discourage you sometimes but the game is so much fun I think we re able to see the better half of the catch 22. Atleast I definitely do. God bless everyone. Smith didn't get "ejected" he received a 10 minute misconduct. Considering there was less than 10 minutes remaining in the game, he was done for the night. If he was truly ejected, it would have been filed as a game misconduct. Just looking at the video, Pachal should have received a misconduct as well.
