Depends who you ask. Oilers fans will say “yes, this is our year”. like they do every year.
    Everybody else will say no.

  2. Unhappy_Industry6508

Why omit the real Blackhawks logo? The Indian head is the primary. Too many people hate the hawks for no reason.

  3. Warthog9198

They certainly have the talent to be considered a contender.

  4. sufferfest3163

Not an Oilers fan but I have to say they are a favorite.

I know it takes a complete team to win it all, though. But if *both* McDavid and Draisaitl go nuts in April and the goaltending is at least average, then they have as much of a chance as anyone in the west to go to the SCF.

  5. A hot or cold goalie at the end of the season will probably be the difference again.

  6. They did better against the Knights than the Panthers. It’s not ridiculous at all. Honestly just want the 06 matchup again lol.

  7. Background-Cup5044

Why does everyone think the rangers are gonna be this good I just don’t get it

  8. dragosn1989

Team defense will be the problem for the Oilers. Not in pre-season or the regular season, but during the playoffs.

  9. Complex-Tangerine628

The only correct teams are the top and bottom. There’s no way Tampa is an insider, probably a fringe outsider, and Buffalo is 100% ahead of Ottawa, also the Pens SUCK. And will suck this year, probably 5th in the Metro, and also Boston should be bumped down

  10. If Seattle plays like they did last year, I’m sure they’re Dark Horse tier.

  11. Diamondback424

I don’t understand how they’re ranked above a few of those other teams. Unless they made some D/G acquisitions in the offseason I’m unaware of, they’re still a very top heavy team. Even the Crosby-Malkin-Letang penguins cup teams had guys playing above their pay grade in the playoffs.

  12. shittybillz

I’d put Colorado, New Jersey and Dallas up with Edmonton and Carolina. Vegas should be there too, though I really don’t think they’ll go back to back.

  13. zoomzoom42

Good to see the usual Oilers delusuon of a cup.

  14. JerbearCuddles

94 rematch please. Just for the lols. And no other reason.

  15. weschester

Whoever makes these lists is quite silly lol

  16. ThaydrianNightshade

I honestly think The Red Wings make the post season. I don’t think they get past round 1 but I see them making it this season!!! I hope Chicago gets Bedard somebody to help him grow!!!

  17. AWokenBeetle

The Blue Jackets could be interesting, they got completely wrecked with long term injuries early of which they’re getting back, Laine, Gaudreau, and Fantilli should be absolute monsters to deal with, Coach Poison is gone with could boost locker room morale.

If they can stay healthy, they might give out a gut punch or three to a team that isn’t trying as hard as they should or looking past them

  18. Reallyme77

Tampa getting dissed, and Canucks over the Kraken? My B’s aren’t what I would call Cup contenders right now. More like playoff calibre imho.

  19. Grand-Imagination925

Dream on Edmonton , Hurricanes definitely

  20. Winter-Outside-4365

    nucks and isles over seattle😭

  21. ItsVibrant16

The oilers are just two guys and a powerplay, until they change that I don’t see them going all the way. With that being said, nobody else can stop said two guys and powerplay, so it may just come down to how hard McDavid can carry

  22. GhostShark

Can everyone stop dunking on the Sharks for one minute?!

  23. So apparently Seattle completely falls off this year? Don’t know how you came up with that scenario.

  24. mackharp0818

They did nothing to address their defense and goaltending. Contender, but not the favourite

  25. meesterstanks

Rangers over the devils? lol thats crazy to me

  26. CalgaryCheekClapper

Ottawa , WPG , Vancouver over buffalo is insane

  27. ViewedConch697

They need very good performances out of just plain good players. If they can get that, then I see no reason why they wouldn’t be a favorite

  28. dzogchenism

Nope. McHasntWonACup ain’t winning a cup this year.

  29. ABC123BabyABC

Year after year it’s carolina and edmonton.

One year your bound to be right.

  30. quinnbeast

Surprised to see the Bruins so high. The mood around New England is not nearly as optimistic.

  31. Falconflyer75

How often do these predictions actually materialize?

Genuinely asking is there a site that shows which team was the projected winner vs who actually won and how the projected winner performed?

  32. WallStreetRegards

I think Dallas and New Jersey are ahead of Edmonton…

  33. Bee_Rye85

Until they choke in the playoffs again they will probably be a favorite as usual.

  34. LogieThePerogie

Of course they just have to fix the bottom 6 and they have a chance to win

  35. Urmommostlikelyahoe

Calgary and Winnipeg ahead of the Kings😂 Kings are dark horse or above 100%

  36. Look, I’ll be the first to shit on any Rangers fan. But to keep it completely objective, how are they are bubble cup contender team? Is that shesterkin diff?

  37. fixurfac3

Edmonton vs Vegas was pretty much the cup final last year

  38. No this whole list is wrong. I mean look at how high they have the Rangers.

  39. The Habs are expected to be the 2nd worst team in the league? I mean… I don’t expect the playoffs but I’m surprised expectations are this low. Oh well. Here’s to another meaningless year of hockey.

  40. DrummerSecure4472

Oilers and Hurricanes could be due for a rematch.
