I’m crazy happy about this team. We need to get a Fitzy chant going when they call out the roster on opening night.

  2. For a good team in preseason, there’s a lot more opportunity for negative than there is for positive. Best case, you look as good as you’d hope. Worst case, various parts of the team raise concern, players look rusty, bad chemistry, that kinda thing.

And this preseason… okay, our rookies look a lot like rookies. Holtz has taken some steps but still looks very rough around the edges, Nemec looks like he could probably use some more time getting big minutes in Utica. Luke will certainly be up with the big team, but we’re likely in for some growing pains, especially if he winds up with Smith. And that’s about it for negatives.

On the other hand, Jack looks every bit as dominant as you’d hope. Bratt looks unreal. Toff is fitting in well. Nico’s line is coming together, the third line looks dangerous, Lazar and Mikey look good, goaltending looks to be about what it was last year. Meanwhile, Marino learned to deke, and Bahl seems to have taken a very large step forward, I’m really psyched with how he’s looked. And oh yeah, powerplay looks lethal (until the last of this game) and pk looks very effective.

Expectations were already raised coming into this season, and I know they haven’t played a real game yet this year. But holy shit, every single thing I’m seeing here is making me that much more hopeful for what’s to come. Now, I’m still traumatized by the decade of darkness and am reluctant to let myself feel too optimistic. I’m going to try hard to just expect entertaining games and enjoy the ride. But *what a fucking ride we get to be on.* I am so ready to see these kids run wild. Regular season can’t come fast enough.

Put money on the over most every game. We’re gonna score a lot of goals game in game out. It’s going to be a fun year!

The thing I’m most happy with is that when we do make mistakes, or when someone’s having a rough night it hasn’t sunk us. The players are compensating and not giving up which is huge compared with a few short years ago. Six game heater. WOOOO.

After Lindy’s post game comments I have a feeling he’s likely moving Holtz off of Nico and Timo soon. I hope that Holtz gets another shot at that line with the Islanders, but that’s two games now where Lindy’s voiced disappointment.

Holtz is just a little sloppy, especially compared to how clean the boys play. Bahl is a hero. This is a fun team to watch

It’s only preseason but the PP looks leaps and bounds better than last year already. Playing basically the top two lines instead of loading all the talent on one is for sure the right move. Especially with the chemistry development we are seeing with Bratt Jack and Toff

WE ARE SO GOING 82-0 THIS SEASON BET YOUR HOUSE ON IT.

Ok maybe I’m slightly exaggerating, but holy shit we are a scary team.

Good morning. Fuck Trouba. The Rags suck. That is all.

  10. chrishic99

Hughes bratt Toffoli is going to be COOKING this year.

    We have a semi-competent powerplay?

Trouba needs a taste of his own medicine.

Everything about this team feels solid except for the third D pairing. Luke is going to have a tough learning curve and we don’t have a spare veteran defenseman that can settle things down while Luke works through his mistakes.

How Smith continues to be put in the lineup is baffling. He was half responsible for the first goal against with that terrible pass and took the penalty that led to the second goal against. He should realistically be the third man up after Miller and Nemec but Lindy’s infatuation with him wont let that happen. Not a great defensive game from Luke either but thats part of the process I guess.

So I assume we are just expecting totally nothing from the NHL about Trouba, as per usual

What a dirty piece of shit… How embarrassing to have such a classless tool as your Captain
