  1. Of course it matters, our goaltending is trash, our PP is non-existent, we can't even beat an AHL team, we barely beat thr Sens AHL team. We all know this is gonna be another depressing season, top 3 or 5 pick next draft

  2. Wait so Roy is going back the Jr and not Laval? Huhhh what more can this guy get from the Q he's completely dominated it for the past 2 years.

  3. You gonna have to edit this for the end of the season…. its gonna be another rough one I think

  4. Maillet = MY A. Agree 100% about Slavkovsky – it's about incremental progress. Saw it happen through the year last year and he has stood out so far in camp. My take on last night's game: 1 – the team lacked chemistry, which is ok, considering now is the time to build it. Caufield's timing was clearly off as he barely hit the net with all his chances – a month from now, those shots are on target. 2 -Kovacevic continues to impress me with his poise and positioning. Solid player despite a lack of footspeed. 3 – Lias Andersson hasn't shown a single thing that he does well. Lots of touches, but a complete lack of creativity at this level, compared to Mesar and Davidson who have shown flashes and a willingness to carry and create plays. Justin Barron appears to be fighting the puck and a month stint in Laval might be in his future with Norlinder taking his spot. Disappointing considering how well Barron finished last year from an offensive perspective. My money is on Suzuki, Caufield, Newhook starting the year together.

  5. Drew, do you or anyone else know who, if any, of the Habs prospects could potentially participate in this year’s World Juniors? 😊 Mick

  6. From watching the pre-season games…my impression is this…Hab fans will need to continue to be extremely patient. Unless HuGo are able to make MAJOR moves to help accelerate/improve this team, the onus of an improved team lies with the young players who make the roster to have progressed. We know the veteran players all need to stay healthy and improve on a disastrous previous season but they are not in the long term plans of where this team needs to go. IMHO, Mtl does not make a major push till the 25-26' season so I'm trying to get into the mindset of low expectations, high excitement at another season of hopefully improved play/chemistry by the youngsters and intrigued by the continued evolution of roster moves as the season progresses.

  7. When is the power play ever going to be mediocre? This is the most depressing part of the pre-season.

  8. My list was Smith, Leonard and Reinbacher, knowing Smith would likely be gone before the 5th pick.
I had no issue with them taking Reinbacher, got an opportunity to see him play in the NL last year. He's going to be a nice fit in the near future. Kloten is the best place for him this season.

  9. I watch 10 rebuilding seasons for another deep playoff run. Why are so many people friggin negative? Have some patience for the process.

  10. We just don't have that game breaking talent. We have team of awesome 2nd liners and top 4 D. I don't see another opportunity to finish bottom 5 again. Gorton and hughes will have to find that game breaking talent on July 1. Or via trade..which rarely, rarely happens

  11. Most of us Habs fans knew Reinbacher was heading back to Switzerland for one more year. That was not a problem.

  12. From what I saw. Suzuki needs to shoot more. It looked to me like many of them were taking this time to try new things. It just looked to me in both games he played teams are anticipating the pass lanes from Suzuki. Even on a clear shot he is thinking pass first. I’m sure he will but during the season I would like to see him give more of a shooting threat.
