    Ultimately, I have to trust that Sakic and CMac know what’s best long term, but god damn would it suck to lose Toews. Absolutely can’t lose him for nothing though. Hope we can figure something out like 5y x 6.5m to keep him here.

    Im on the fence with this one. The tough part is the fact teams will be willing to pay him with term. A discount is probably anything less than 7×8 on the open market

    Just re-sign him already. You have a window to compete now, worry about 5 or 6 years then. I often say trust Sakic and I do but I also feel like this should be a no brainer decision

    I feel like they will figure it out. Cale loves playing with him. If you have the best D pairing in the league you don’t throw it away lightly

    Y’all gotta remember that the cap is going to raise like 8-9 million this off-season, so everyone in the league (including us) will have much more room to maneuver
