Nils Hoglander, Vasili Podkolzin or Arshdeep Bains. Contracts and history aside, who's really earned that spot? If they could work out who plays the wings, I'd love to see Bains with Kuz and Petey for a game.

The Canucks are built more for drawing penalties, than for fighting it out in a close game with heavy checking. Given the state of hockey officiating and player safety, it's not a place you want to be in if you want to push for a playoff spot. Not concerned about losing by a goal or two in exhibition games, but still concerned about the lack of truculence in this roster.

Rutherford fired Boudreau because he said the Canucks didn't have a good enough pre season. The Canucks look even worse this pre season! 3 games left to develop chemistry, and Tocchet is still playing guys that will be AHL bound.
Why is Podkolzin getting all of the criticism ? The whole team looks below average so far. How many points does Pettersson have so far ? Why is Tocchet not putting lines together to develop some chemistry?? Use the lines that will start the season, and sub in guys who are actually competing for a roster spot.
Losing in pre-season is one thing, playing young guys to see what you have got in them is one thing… but the young guys not showing you much in pre-season speaks volume again to the shallow talent pool this team has when it comes to prospects. Of the young guys pushing for a spot, Bains seem to be the one who is actually making a bit of an impression… Podkolzin and Hoglander, unfortunately, have not.
The Canucks have to get more shots on goal as right now this looks like it could be a long boring season under the Tocchet system. I hope I’m wrong but if this turns out to be the trend, I can’t see Petterson wanting any of this.
I agree with Thomas! Canucks need to get bigger all around! If Pettersson wants out at seasons end I say Trade him to Buffalo for Tage Thomson and try to see if you can pry Owen Power as well out of that trade
Canucks will suck again tgere to damn slow this team is toast needs a rebuild there terrible will probably end up picking 11th again next year or worse will lose Hronek Beaulviea and Petterson Myers will finally be gone so i hope they stink they will have no choice to finally rebuild this team enough with experiment doesnt work will never work

Wolanin and Juulsen faired well in extended cameos last season. Surely that bears more weight than 3 exhibition games.
