Jake DeBrusk wants to sign a contract extension with the Boston Bruins.

The 26-year-old can become an unrestricted free agent next summer after his two-year contract expires. That deal was signed during a very public trade request, but a lot has changed since then.

DeBrusk now has the chance to prove why he’s a core member of the team both on and off the ice. If he can make good on his 30+ goal potential, a long term, reasonable money extension will be an easy sign for both sides.

Plus, the first practice is set for next Tuesday, and new jerseys – to be worn during 15 nationally televised games – will be revealed in a couple weeks.
