Man I don’t know about this. We can’t have so many 30+ guys making 5+ million. If we also sign Lindholm to the rumoured monster contract then this team could end up as the Sharks 2.0 but without all the post season success. This has me worried.

This would be a very acceptable deal. I imagine the dollar payout will be front loaded. And they’ll probably give him a limited NTC. Coupled with a gentleman’s agreement that they’ll send him to a contending team if things are going the wrong way.
We get out captain. He had a career year last year so it’s likely he’ll play well in the back half of his thirties. And the club **Finally!** gets a second player to 1,000 games.

I’m happy with it. The team as a whole truly seems to heavily respect Backs and want him as their leader, so if the boys are about it, I am too. Hope it gets done asap

I would’ve shipped alm the players that said they wanted to be moved in the off season. It’s a joke that this org is still throwing large sums of money to the three guys in question. Backlund said he wants out for a change of scenery and and to win a cup. Then the org tells him he will be captain and all of the sudden he’s on board to re sign. Smh. And then there’s lindholm who is being driven completely by money. Maybe if these guys were a little more enthusiastic about playing with the flames and winning, I would say re sign them but to me it seems like they would stay for completely other reasons
