If Panarin gets up and hauls off with his stick to the throat of Wilson until Wilson stops moving Panarin would be within his rights of self defense under the law. Wilson is attempting to cause serious bodily harm to another human during a fight after the whistle has blown, doesn't matter if he's a hockey player or not. Panarin had a right to defend himself, by deadly means if necessary. And I'm not a rangers fan. I hate the rangers. Where is the line drawn for players to defend themselves from people like this in the league? When you got a guy who has 80lbs on you and trying to bash your face into the ice, after the whistle has blown? This isn't a fisticuffs or a scrum. This is a criminal attempting to cause serious bodily injury to another human being, and is getting away with it because of a uniform. (Sound familiar?)
