Button believes Senators will make playoffs, Maple Leafs should be worried

TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss how much better the Senators are than last year’s team, if Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck will still be with the Jets after the trade deadline, and his confidence level that Jonathan Huberdeau will have a bounce-back season.

  1. Yea…because pre-season is a very good indicator of how a team is going to perform. You'd think a guy that's been covering hockey for as long as Craig Button has would understand that NHL vets that are guaranteed a spot aren't trying in the pre-season, they're just waiting until the games matter. The only people that are actually playing are the people on PTO and the prospects. When Ottawa beats Toronto in games that matter, then I'll start to worry.

  2. Well if Button says that with his record of predictions it’s a guarantee they miss out πŸ€”πŸ™„πŸ€ͺ😊Penguins 🐧 got a much better chance in making it this time imho!

  3. Toronto played each of the first two preseason games with star players out, rosters half filled with prospects and without their starting goalie.
This level of early hype is almost maple leafs fan level jumping the gun. Calm down.

  4. TSN and the affirmative action talent once again. Ever hear of volume settings?

Here's an idea f*ckwads, hire people that can actually do the damn job and don't worry about ticking diversity boxes.

  5. The Sens look very good and the battle of Ontario is on, however one can also say that the Sens should be worried as well.

  6. The Leafs shouldn't be worried πŸ˜‚, Ottawa will be better this year for sure… and toronto will probably lose a game or two to them..great.. but this is only the narrative because Ottawa beat a Toronto team that was mostly playing prospects and a Matthews, Bertuzzi and Marner who were all out of sync, and not really giving a shit. At the end of the day Toronto is still the better team.
