“I have some of my personal goals. I don’t think I’ll share them. I want to be good for the team, I want to win every single game that we can. I’ll try to work on that with my teammates. It’s better to work on them in ‘silence.’” – Juraj Slafkovsky

Rooting so hard for this kid
The man knows where he plays.
“Words can’t describe what Slafkovsky has in store for fans this year!”

I know we rip on management’s emphasis on attitude but I do think it will help Slaf a lot. They’ve said since the pick that they think he’ll be the best player in 4-5 years, not today, and so for him to develop into that while playing in our brutally critical market, this kind of attitude is going to be crucial.
Smart.
This is why we drafted this kid.
Personality and character. He’s good at hockey, but he has the determination to be great.
At minimum 50 points, playing a decent 2 way game. There’s the goal.
Can’t wait to watch some hockey again
real gs move in silence like lasagna
Guy is smart!
Big Chad energy right there just like Mike McDaniel.
Just let him play.
0.45 ppg please Slaffy
For Slaf if he can do 50+ points or 40+ points with strong analytics to back him up then a lot of my concerns about him go away.
A lot of people are stoked about how he’s putting the team first in his expectations and goals for the season but I’m also really happy to read that he’s got personal goals for himself even if he’s keeping them private. Part of what we need from Slaf is for him to be a bit of a rockstar for us, to go out and score and be “the guy” and I think some of that killer instinct can be developed just through Slaf knowing that he’s got a goal in mind for himself. If he’s sitting at 19 goals going into game 80 or something like that and his aim was 20 for the season, it’s more likely that he’s going to be aggressively looking to involve himself on the ice offensively and to tilt the ice in our favour. I love that he’s a great kid and a team first player but I also want him to be a stud and to know he’s a stud and to take what is his just because he can. Can’t wait to see what this year holds for him
My hot take of the season… Id set his over/under at 35 points on the year….
