St. Louis wants Slafkovsky to get more touches: ‘I can’t buy confidence and give it to him’
Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis explains what he wants to work on with first overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky over training camp and the preseason to make him feel more comfortable when the regular season starts.
TECHNICALLY you can buy confidence and give it to him, it's just that the substances that give people ungodly amounts of confidence aren't EXACTLY good for you, and some of them are illegal.
I'm defintely not cheering against Slaf, but damn it would be hilarious for Habs fans to miss on another top pick.
Edit: I have to say MSL sounds like he's the coach to get him going, this interview was nothing but honesty and fire from the coach and he's trying to get Slaf charged up. Cheers habs fans

He's a great coach. Patience is paramount. FFS he's only played part of one season. Check out the 1st season production of Owen Nolan and Joe Thornton. Both 1st overall picks with major size. Here are some sobering stats: Joe Thornton: 19pts in 55 for .35ppg – Owen Nolan 13pts in 59 for .22ppg – Juraj Slafkovsky 10pts in 39 for .26ppg. Factor in the fact he's far from home and a euro playing in euro rinks with euro style. I'm not shocked at his numbers and am not worried at all at THIS point.

He’s going to be just fine. It takes time for some players to get comfortable.

I always said give slaf time but with what scouts did this year i have no trust in them anymore haha
