A TCL *AND* ACL tear??? Fuck *ALL* of that noise. I only had a partial ACL tear when I played freshman football and that was excruciating. Plus the blackberry on the back of your knee from the puck would be top tier. I’d love to play beer league, but that shit scares me lol.

I got hit on the inside of the knee by a slapshot and the only thing between my knee and the puck was the liner from my shinguard.
Knee swelled up like a balloon and turned all kinds of different colors over the next few weeks, but luckily there was no real damage done and it healed up nicely after about a month or so.

Ummmm, there is no TCL. It’s called the medial collateral ligament (MCL)

I have had this happen and can confirm it is extremely painful, luckily mine was off a deflection from the post and didn’t damage anything in my knee but it sure felt like it did the first 20 minutes or so.

I can recognize a medical school PowerPoint from a mile away
Good luck during your MSK block, it was the worst

I tore my ACL and MCL playing on my high school team but that was only because I was a fucking duster and couldn’t pivot on skates that were just sharpened before the game and ended up blowing a flat tire and sliding in to the boards feet first.

Got hit in the ankle with a slap shot from Dave snuggerud (former Sabre) at a hockey camp and I couldn’t take my skate off for an hour. Can’t imagine how it wouldn’t felt in the back on the leg

This is why you invest in properly fitting gear that is also somewhat modern. Pucks go a lot faster with composite sticks these days. Your gear should keep up with the changes. Last I check d my shinguards have some decent side impact protection

Only time I’ve ever cried from pain is getting hit in the knee as a goalie. Like no padding there and it was a wrist shot in college, fuck it hurt so bad

I wouldn’t say this is a common ice hockey injury. You’re more likely to blow out your knee getting hit into the boards.

Walk it off bud
That’s why you use pads.
I used to be an adventurer…
I can feel that image.
