That’s interesting. I wonder how much cap they all take. Do we got to sacrifice a player to keep these 3?
I don’t know how to feel. Lindy is my favourite player but you know he wants them to back up with the brinks truck with term to keep him. Backs is old and will want one last big payday. Hanny has a lot of potential but still hasn’t really hit his stride as a top 4 guy. Really hope they aren’t panic overpays.
I love lord Zebulon, and I’d hate to see him in another sweater. Hanifin and I share a birthday (and a sweater number), so I kinda like him for that. Backs has been an important member of the Calgary community for fifteen years. With Murray’s blessing, I’d be in favour of trading all three for the biggest return we can get. We’re only putting off the inevitable and putting ourselves in an unenviable position a few years down the road with Naz, Hubs, Backs, Lindy all mid or late thirties with albatross contracts and no cap space.
Just stop asking them. We need some new storylines

The funny thing was how everyone was like “ugh nobody wants to play here this sucks” when all the reports said everyone wanted to leave. Now that it seems like the narrative is changing and they want to stay, everyone is like “they’re too old we need to trade everyone.” I think that keeping Lindholm and Hanifin especially will only help the team, so if they want to stay let’s make it work.
I hope they see how the start of the season goes first.

This would have to mean Zadorov and tanev are out at a minimum.
Would still probably need to be another cap casualty or two.
It’s nice they want to stay, but unfortunately I think I’ve given up hope that our aging core can amount to anything other than sneaking into a wild card spot
