Hell yeah, well deserved Schenner. Embodiment of grit and leadership.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Schenn might be one of the last true blue on this roster. I love this decision. Him playing in the playoffs against the wild with multiple broken ribs, fighting Kadri when he cheap shotted Faulk, on and on. This guy will do anything for his teammates. A true professional!

Parayko, Thomas, and Faulk are the alternate captains.

  4. Expected that it would be Schenn. Here for another 5 years barring a trade in the last 3 years. Should be the captain for a while.

God I’m gonna lose it when Captain Schenn drops the gloves and beats the brakes off someone for one of the kids.

Time to drop another 450 on a schenn jersey

Said it as soon as O’Reilly left – Schenn is it. He has grit. He has fight. This team needs that kind of captain.

  8. Good though I was slightly leaning more toward RobTom, I like the future leading us since the Cup roster is dwindling down. Hopefully we have a good few years with Schenn and he passes the torch to Rob, or maybe even Kyrou if he gets better enough

Is it against NHL regulations to replace the “c” in his name with the captain’s patch on his nameplate?

  10. Schenn has been the defacto Captain for a while. His on-ice play has always been captain worthy and his welcoming of younger players like Neighbours, but for me he solidified it last year when he made his comments about supporting the Hockey Is For Everyone theme.

Not gonna lie, I was secretly hoping Binner got the C, Bortz and Walker get As.

    Let the chaos begin!

Bad News Bears of the NHL.

Don’t forget he lead the get together in Philly that started the turn around in 2019.

He’s gonna have a huge year him and Vrana along with others

I’m a big Schenn supporter but this feels a lot like Dallas Drake all over again. The style of play is not sustainable and he’ll most likely be a fourth liner within two years. Personally I’m of the belief that your captain should also be one of the best players in the team. Schenn is a solid depth guy and definitely a leader, but I don’t see him as even one of the five best players on this team.
