2008 was a really big year. Detroit dominated the league. If you are tired of the prospects hypes and colombus drama I can recommend watching old 2008 games, 2007-2009 .. all extremely entertaining seasons and games.detroit set the bar for the rest of the league. Our best players where the best players in the entire league.. . best goalie tandem in the NHL too.. Lidstrom , zetterberg and other leaders frequently attented strategy and tactical meetings because their inputs where valued so much, something other teams did not do. The plays they had where unique and the setups where so good.

I will never forget that Fleury fell out of the gate onto the ice and the rink attendants laughed at him, and then the Penguins didn’t score a single goal in Detroit until game 5.

That whole series, sometimes the Wings were just playing keep-away with the other team.
