Fuck what a shittty way to start the season

  2. NontransferableApe

Good. Shoulda been vincent all along anyways

  3. saturnx9

Well at least he lasted as long as Quick did.

  4. iamelloyello

Glad it happened now and not right at the beginning of the season.

  5. Seattlekrakenlegend

He’s the best choice for fixing this team right now. Whatever mistrust is going on, he can help rebuild it. The guys love him.

  6. I’m just glad it’s over and we can move forward from the perpetual shitshow this season would’ve been with Babcock at the helm.

  7. Babcock should have never been hired in the first place an end of an error.

  8. What a way to start the season, eh? The Jackets continue to be cursed.

  9. Now I’d REALLY like to know what the hell happened. Sounds like something a lot worse than what was said before.

JK and JD gotta go too. What an embarrassment

  11. This situation makes me wonder that if Babcock hadn’t hypothetically done anything egregious that the ownership told the FO to shitcan Babcock regardless because of the negative attention he was and would be bringing to the team.

  12. Is anyone else *more* excited about this season now that Vincent’s our coach?

  13. Jesus, this whole thing is a fucking clown fiesta.

Babcock now a member of the Jonathan Quick CBJ Memorial Club

I hate to say it but I hope both Jarmo’s and JD’s heads should roll for this. They brought someone into the org that they knew had a history of abusive behavior but decided that winning was more important than the mental health of our players and chose to ignore literally everyone screaming at the top of their lungs that this was a terrible idea. This is not a good look for the CBJ no matter how you spin it. I’m tired of us being a joke in this league.

I was fine being the Detroit Lions on the NHL…always irrelevant. I’m not fine being the Browns….always self sabotaging

  17. Chumpback

Not even a single preseason game played, and we’ve reached midsession levels of interesting

As weary as I was of Pascal being promoted originally, I would have picked him over Babcok anyday of the week after learning of what he had done in the past, sure the man “may have” tried to be better, but he is just out of touch with how people are nowadays.

Also I will never understand why Jarmo hired him in the first place, felt like an all in move.

This is the poker equivalent of bluffing with a 2 & 9, going all in to scare your opponent and they call and you are made to look the fool. (Which I think Jarmo definitely is in this case)

  19. I have the open house thing next Thursday to potentially become a season ticket holder, just wanted to try it out and be a part of the team in a bigger way.

I genuinely don’t even know now. I was really excited about this year.

As my old buddy, Zathras, might say, Babcock staying would’ve been a distraction. Babcock leaving would’ve been a distraction. Either way, there is symmetry.

At least we came back to the right decision… now why the fuck did we bother hiring Babcock at all

  22. ChristyLovesGuitars

I really don’t get it. This seems like a normal, everyday, HR approved occurrence in corporate America.

  23. tread_lightly94

Vincent immediately getting hired and getting a two year deal, as well as how he stayed on and did not leave for an HC job strongly suggests to me there was a handshake deal for Babcock to play nice and Pascal to take over if he didn’t

  24. razorspoiler

I told myself that I was gonna give him one more chance after all this mess and wow… That was settled quite timely.

  25. asilvahalo

My expectations for Babcock were low, but damn.

  26. steveslikewhoa

Always been a fan of Jarmo’s vision. He built a decent team, and then some of the core guys decided to fuck off, so he pivoted and got our cupboards stocked nicely.

But this is a massive fuck up. At this point in the year, it would be hard to make a change in the FO. But anything short of playoffs this year (and I would not have said this before) has to mean he and JD are gone.

  27. SageOfSix-

bruh i just can’t help to laugh, that’s too funny. i thought babcock would ruin our young core anyways so i’m glad he’s gone

  28. LordHyperBowser

I love being the laughing stock of the league

  29. redditistreason

Lol glad we went through all that rigamaroll just to clean house before the first puck is dropped in the season.

I’m not even going to say what I could be saying about all of this – it’s just so fucked. On top of the disappointment of inviting all this onto us in the first place. But here we are, blowing our own feet off yet again.

Good fucking weekend after the Crew shit the bed. Thanks Ohio!

Wait wtf we just hired him? So he comes in, looks at everyone’s phones, then resigns? 😂 What in the blue flaming fuck is going on?
