Anyone know how these car door lights work?



I saw this in my FB feed and was thinking of how I might be able to use it in my man cave. Anyone know the mechanism to turn on / off?

    Pretty sure it’s an ultrasonic sensor, so it’s activated based on distance from the sensor to the ground / an object. If it’s in a car door it’s too close to the frame, but when the door opens and it is detecting the ground a foot or two away it activates.
