I don't think Atlanta will bring the NHL back after the Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg and became the Jets in 2011.
Would rather have a team in Charlotte but Atlanta will do.
The NHL has too many teams. If anything, they need to decrease teams or at least get rid of the Arizona Coyotes.

Re: expansion: with most recent expansion to Vegas and Seattle I think the league will take a break from further expansion. Yeah…. we'll hear all sorts of talk but I'm betting that that's all it will be for the next 5-10 years.
Reports are the NBA Owners of the Jazz & Rockets really would like a NHL Team and who ever else wants one . If the NHL expands again the question is by how many teams would it be 2 or 4 . Will the Conferences each have 17 teams if it's at 34 teams if it's them 2 cities does Nashville move east . Expansion brings the Owners money that is why i think a 34 team league may happen before or around 2030 . 34 team league i want to see how the divisions and Conferences end up . not many people like Salary Cqp i love it i think it over all balance the league out each playoff team now has a chance to win
