One of the best two-way centers in the league. Prove me wrong.

Joel Eriksson Ek is an underrated player in the NHL today. The man had 23 goals 38 assists for 61 points, and was a +4. He had a face-off percentage of 49.4%. He 55 blocks, 119 hits, and 44 takeaways. All while 19 minutes a night against the other team’s top line. The man is a monster.

    “He had a face-off percentage of 49.4%”

This reminds me of that Simpsons quote, “Sounds like Springfield’s got a discipline problem. Maybe that’s why we beat ’em at football nearly half the time, huh?”

  2. He’s definitely a solid player, definitely could use a center that’s better on face-offs.

+4, 49% faceoffs, 19 minutes a night don’t scream “monster”, but he’s still great and underrated.

He was my favorite Wild when I first started watching 3 years ago. Probably still. I think he’s great. Also super gritty.

If he upped his FO% above 55%, he could very easily get into the Selke finalist convo. For now, he’s probably “just” an A tier two way guy

Shame he had the leg injury in the playoffs last year. We needed him.

Love that blank stare that pisses off whomever is in his path!

And the way he can make others take penalties….yeah, the Wild are def better when he’s on the ice

  9. He’s another Danault. He’s not an exceptional player, but he’s a reliable guy.

Would have been better with 54 blocks last season……

  11. All hail the 2015 draft. So many excellent players and JEE is up there frustrating us by eliminating those MacKchances. Now with Novak breaking out last year, this draft just keeps on giving.
