What a roller coaster of emotions I’m feeling while reading that. Absolute class act and awesome dude. Guy was nails in the playoffs and always fought through all the shit he was given whether it was deserved or not.

From learning of Josh and his potential to be a major piece on the Isles after he was drafted when I was a kid in 8th grade to where he is now when I’m 28 and a fully grown adult. Just crazy to look back on.

I hope he means these words. I hope he’s not bitter towards the fans who have been so unfair to him. He was never a flawless player, but the way some fans treated him was always so over the top. He didn’t deserve all of that. I wish him the best, and hope to see him pop up at UBS every now and then.

  4. I’ll never not love Josh Bailey. 1000 games here, taking a discount on his last contract to stay, playing through the awful years, getting to celebrate the good ones. Fuck me man I’m gonna cry

Why am I crying in the club right now

  6. It’s actually hard to believe he is #3 all time in games played for us. Good luck with your future endeavors, Josh, and thank you for the memories, good and bad.

    Chainz Bailey forever.

This brings to mind the video of his son singing “heyyyy Josh Bailey, ooh ahh” 🙂 so adorable! I know he wasn’t appreciated by everyone, but I have such a soft spot for Bailey.

  8. I was definitely a Bailey hater in these threads in recent years, but the frustration was always more towards how he was being used not his actual abilities. Bailey is one of those players that always receives such high praise from other NHL pros that I would never let fan opinion lead me to believe he is “bad”. Watching the song go from a jest to a form of legitimate support was a really cool sports experience. He is one of the players I feel must hurt for when thinking back to the recent playoff shortcomings. If we were to somehow pull of a crazy run this year and win it all it would feel kinda wrong that he couldn’t be a part of it.
