@LOKISlog7 There isn't a goalie controversy. Flowers' the guy. No questions asked. He has allowed 10 goals in 3 games this year. The one against Montreal is his fault. The others are a combination of bad defensive plays, deflection and redirects. Fleury has made more spectacular saves in three games and over his career than he has allowed bad goals.Johnson is a career backup. That is why he is on this team. Flower is not to blame for the team's bad play. He better be in goal against the Flyers.
Well that's five one goal games in five games. I know the score against New Jersey was 3-1 but that was really a one goal game as well. They're playing tight games. Hopefully we go wild tomorrow against Philliy.
@lonelykir6 well bro he wasn't,and for some reason we won again.flower is as mental as they get.most goalies are but he is pretty bad.so with johnson being 3-0 i think it's probably fucking with fleury.look at last year he was fine going into the olympics and then doesn't play 1min in the olympics.after feb he was so-so,and then played horrid in the playoffs especially in the montreal series.i hope he gets the mental part of his game going bc when he's on he's a top 7 goalie in the nhl.
@TaInTeDlYnX it should but if you read my comment fleury is pretty "mental".it's still early though.i mean no orpik, michalek, asham or staal.when these 4 get healthy the whole dynamic changes.this team if fleury wakes up is better than the 09 team(at least on paper).hopefully by thanksgiving everything is meshing together.fleury could be so-so and with orpik, michalek, letang, martin, gogo and engelland in front of him the pens will be ok…..i think.
@TaInTeDlYnX i agree but you can't be sitting fleury on a regular basis.he has to get 2 out of 3 starts or who knows what his head will become.ya we're def missing staal a few more weeks though and we'll have him back.you can say good bye to comrie or kennedy when staal and asham come back.
@TaInTeDlYnX the rope has to be somewhat long.you're paying a dude 5mil a year to ride the pine.plus his performance in the final 4 min of game 7 in 09 was sick.so at times he is exceptional.i understand come feb-mar you don't want to be in the "must win" situation.i guess you ride brent while he's hot now.i agree this year has yet to be written, but lets atleast get a chapter in the book.lol
@oehieze Neal is a good player. He is big, phyical and can score. He will become a fan favorite in Pittsburg like he was in Dallas. Niskanen on the other hand…….glad he is Pittsburg's problem now.
