I think that you want players you don’t have to baby, you don’t have to worry about their mental fortitude and determination. Having said that, you also have to be pragmatic. They are all human beings, they aren’t immutable rocks. I think MSL is really great at respecting the human being aspect of the players and they respond to that. This regime is such a breath of fresh air. And it isn’t like they let the players run the show. They were having none of the Drouin show after giving him every opportunity to return the respect given.

This concept is as effective in the business world as it is on a sports team.
Challenge your charges, but be there if they stumble. Do not suck the joy out of what they do.
I really like the leadership group in this organization.
