  1. If Slaf can stay heatlthy, I can see 40-50 pts… he really just needs to keep his head up and not get hurt… Development takes time, he is still growing up, let him adjust and grow into himself…

  2. My man you just have to stop listening to those leafs fans lol. They still think it's "their year" for like the 5th consecutive season. Don't you see they know nothin about the game? 🫣😆

  3. KK was the hurricanes best player the second half of last season. He was one of the best players in the league, after the start of the second half. Montreal gave up on KK FAR too early.

  4. Thank you Johnny for your realistic commentary regarding Slaf despite the naysayers.

He's so young and hasn't even played a whole season yet.

  5. He wiahes he was Yakapov lol, Yak had a muxh better rookie season. This guy is a massive bust.

  6. Too early to tell and Hughes said he'd take years developing, not a generational draft and not expected to be a 50 goal scorer. Anyone ignoring those facts are idiots. He was 1st overall in a shitty draft, no other player in that draft played as many NHL games as him, he has size, hits and will find the back of the net regularly with time.

  7. He’s not going to be a “bust”. There’s too much of his game that’s projectable as a 3rd liner to fully bust. I’d be pretty shocked though if he’s not a disappointment for a 1OA pick. I never though a guy with such piss poor Liiga production belonged anywhere near 1OA talks. I think he probably ends up with a similar impact to Kakko. Both definite disappointments for 1/2 picks but not busts

  8. Listen, a few years ago, there was a VERY large part of the Habs fanbase who was calling Carey Price a bust and was asking for him to be traded instead of Halak. The fact that Slafkovsky is being compared to Matthews and not to another player of that draft class, AKA the players he has to be compared to (like Shane Wright) tells you all you need to know about the expertise of these fans.

  9. Totally agree with the sentiment here, but the culture “we” created is created by the media. Bedard is a classic example, he hasn’t even played an NHL game yet but he’s being called the next great one. Yes he looks good at college level, but come on man, big difference between that and the NHL, especially at his size. I hope he lights up the league, but I won’t be surprised if he gets nailed and injured in the first few months, by some beast of a D man looking to humble Blackhawks fans. I hope that doesn’t happen, but it happened to Crosby and McJesus, stranger things have happened.

  10. he's a power forward… he's not going to score 40 goals… he was drafted for his tenacity, potential offence, and his frame that he WILL bulk into… I don't judge a rookie until they are 22/23 years old and goalies until they are 25. they need time to become men, put weight on, and develop their skill sets with top tier coaching. there's no doubt in my mind that this kid becomes a solid top 6 NHL player. time will tell if he was worth the 1st overall pick but that said who in his draft class tore it up?

  11. He should never play in Mtl last years. It was to fast for him and he was hit 3 time very dangerously. He should start in La val this year..

  12. A big difference between him and Yaki, is Yakupov had a big attitude issue. I agree, I think Slafkovsky just needs time to adjust.

  13. People need to realize that there had never been a 6'3"+ 235 lbs+ 18 year-old forward in the NHL before him (unless someone can think of another one). This was uncharted territory. Bigger players usually take longer to develop, plus he was new to the North American game. This guy has only scratched the surface of his potential. I'd be fine with 15-20 goals and 15-20 assists this season.
