It sounds trite, but I do think it’s important for fans to acknowledge the process here and be patient. The team is going to struggle at some point in the long regular season, and adapting to the all-new coaching staff and team system early in the year is the best time for that to happen.
In fact I’d be a little worried if they didn’t have *any* issues for the first few weeks or so. I’d prefer they follow a similar course as last season: Flounder a bit the first month, show improvement the next month, and then from Christmas on turn into one of the hottest teams the rest of the way. Hopefully this time it won’t take Trouba losing his shit on the ice, and you know, choking in the playoffs…
