    Illya was better than his bff in Russia and he’s still better than him here. Nothing has changed. Sorokin is the best goalie in the world. Can anyone name a player in the nhl that is more important to his teams success than illya? Sorokin should b first for the hart trophy.

    Got the email from NHL Experiences yesterday, been dreaming about flying out from Boise for the Isles – Rangers. They are not messing around with those ticket prices. Only nine sections left and they range from $500 (nosebleeds) to $1100 for the sidelines. Would love to go but ,..yikes. 😵‍💫

    Sorokin is better and more important to his team and unlike igor he has to play perfect every start for isles with pathetic offense to have a chance to win. Too bad illya will never have any elite scorers to take some of the pressure off of him as long as you know who runs this ship full of slow ass slugs.

    I still think Sorokin should've gotten the Vezna. That man put his heart and soul in front of that net and got us into the playoffs. The Boston goalie didn't do what he did.

    IMO, Sorokin finally surpassed Shesterkin. He just needed time to adapt to a new league. He wasn't the best in the league last year, but I bet he made more 'save of the year' plays than anyone else. He should have won the HArt because the Isles would have collapsed without him.

    Hi Gil! This is a very interesting and fair question. The answer will eventually come down to who wins a Cup. Each fan has an argument. For me? Sorokin-why? He faces much more higher danger rubber. He also faces much more stressful games. Nice to know your team can score 4/5/6 goals per game Vs Sorro knowing he can’t give up more than 2!! To me that’s the difference. Wins and losses-trophies don’t mean anything. Both are excellent but I’ll take our guy! Lastly Sorro is much more athletic. Great show Gil! I’ll take my chances with the guy that plays many more pressure type games. Rags suck!! If we had 1 offensive player plucked from their team—we would win a Cup!

    Sorokin is better. He’s more athletically gifted and he’s indisputably proven the more consistent of the 2. Igor is still amazing though…

    I know as an Isles fan everyone will think this is biased but I think Sorokin is better and here is why. 1. He just plays the game instead of acting like a diva like Igor does and most nights it seems like the Rangers goalie cares more about diving, playing the puck when there is no need including always trying to score a goal. 2nd reason is look at the teams built around both guys and the ages of each team and it's not even close the Rangers always seem to go get the guys they need and the Isles always seem to bargain shop in the oldies bin. The only thing that Sorokin team wise gets is a steady goaltending partner in Varlamov whereas the Rangers seem to change backup goalies like people change underwear lol. Ilya Sorokin and Igor Shesterkin can both steal you a game or even a series and we should be happy to see these guys go head to head for a bunch of years.
