  1. I cant see him signing for anymore then 4 years. These guys want to get paid but these guys want to win as well and if Vancouver isnt a contender then you cant blame him for wanting to win and if for any reason he may hurt himself or somehow regresses it gives the team and the player the option to reassess the situation then. I can see the Matthews effect spill over.

  2. A young center (Pettersson) thats over 100 points and is by far the best player on the team and you guys are talking about him taking 9 million? They will not get him signed under 10 , it's probable even going to be above 11. Are you aware that Matthews just signed for 13,5? Top players won't be signing for less than 10 going forward with the cap going up, especially centers.
