Old enough?? He didn’t even play that long ago.

  2. Boring_Pace5158

Raise your hand if you thought he was related to Clark Gillies

  3. Steelersfan798

Every team had at least one player like him. Gotta protect your goalie and teammates

Gilles! He “leveled” me in a pick-up game in Columbia, SC! 😂 Best hit I ever took!

  5. Doesn’t your picture selection make it self explanatory? 😀😀

  6. rocko-wpg7

That stash level up gave him +5 punch power and +5 stamina…. If he finds the goatee it’s +10 speed.

  7. ziggyjoe212

I remember when he hit a rookie Eric Tangradi from behind, gave him a concussion, then stood over him yelling as he laid on the ice disoriented.

I want Trevor Gillies and Mike Haley to do NHL fight reactions and reviews, recent fights to old fights, legendary fights to weird fights.

  9. snark_enterprises

I’m definitely old enough to remember him, but I don’t.

Met him at an Islanders fans skate day at the old Colosseum back in the early 2000s. Super nice dude. Signed some shit for me and my cousin.

It’s easy when your father was a hall of famer

  12. _nopucksgiven

Dude was the prototypical old school goon

  13. PADabber724

Remembered only for being a total scumbag

  14. middletown-dreams

I thought he picked a fight with a player while watching a game and beat the crap out of him? Man I miss Doug Glatt

  15. SeveralBadMetaphors

I met him after an Islanders game once. He was a really nice guy with a badass vintage ride.

  16. Trevor gillies ruled. I loved when he got tossed from the penguins fight night and stood at the glass screaming at the refs

    True story:

I once was at a AHL game in Hartford like 11 or 12 years ago. Was sitting about 7 rows behind the benches. Gillies was playing against the Hartford Wolfpack for the Bridgeport sound tigers. Anyways he was being a complete goon out there, instigated one near fight and then had a real one shortly thereafter.

All the fans behind the bench were just giving it to him. Constantly taunting and calling him out by name.

For about five minutes this 6 year old kid kept going “Hey Gillies! Hey Gillies!”

He finally turned around and the kid flipped him the double birds. The entire section, including the kids father, absolutely lost it laughing. From that moment on he became a legend/icon to me and my high school aged friends

Can’t forget when he slammed William Carrier’s head on the ice..

  19. ComfortablySmug007

OP just listened to the latest Cam and Strick pod lol. Former GM Garth Snow defended Gillies for that Pittsburgh scrum

  20. Cultural-Loss-855

I was old enough, I know he remembers the Boogie Man

  21. Calm-Measurement-532

I remember the line brawl when he was kicked out and then came back on

  22. Double_Reward230

DUDE!! He could drop em! But isn’t that Gillies? Isn’t he still
    Playing?

  23. mochajon

Gillies was a true enforcer, he made the league on a little bit of skill combined with a whole lot of grit and determination.

  24. fourty-six-and-two

He played 1 shift for the ducks, lasting 2 min 40 seconds in which he racked up 21 penilty mins 🤣

I wonder if he took his skate off and tried to stab somoene also

  25. I never looked into it but I always felt like the Ross rhea guy in the goon movie was based on him

  26. Mackey_Corp

Well he did play for the Islanders, that’s not saying much. I say this as a born on LI Islanders fan.

  27. hockeynoticehockey

With that ‘stash it was either hockey goon or porn star. His Mother wouldn’t let him be a porn star, so…

  28. CyBerImPlaNt

You guys have obviously never heard the term give blood fight Probert

  29. megapacific

Boogaard removed his helmet via his chin one time.

  30. SpecialistShop5733

Yes, I am. And sometimes, I didn’t give a fuck.

  31. minos157

I was talking to my Dad about a year ago about Gillies. I said he was such a goon and should never have been allowed to even play the game.

We argued for about 15 minutes and he was so adamant that he wasn’t a goon, I was flabbergasted.

Then we both realized I had mistakenly said Clark and not Trevor and that cleared it up nicely 😂
