I have dreaded this day for 6 years, but you know what. Who really cares? Vegas deserves it, and hopefully one day we will get ours.
Sharks won’t make the playoffs until 2026. Sharks will celebrate the 2016 Cup finals appearance!
For me, I at least wanted VGK to be placed in a position to have to be forced to finally build a certain amount through the draft. It's the main way when you're an expansion team in the past or starting from the bottom, that you build your team. It's like okay, let's see if your scouting department has the chops and if some of the picks you made pan out. I'm getting disappointed Wiseblatt may not pan out after trading Goodrow for that pick. Those things happen. I wanted to see what VGK would do, but Glass, Suzuki, and Krebs are all gone. The only player they brought up that played in the Final was Hague. I think that's what feels so different. Col had Mackinnon, Landeskog, Makar. TB had Stamkos, Kucherov, Vasilevskiy. Home grown guys. If VGK had some significant building through the draft or prospects they brought up, I could have something to compare it to, but they didn't have to do that because of the position they were placed in from the expansion draft
I said this about a month ago this is going to be the most important draft in the Sharks franchise history they cannot miss on anything if this team's going to get back to some form of relevance they're going to have to have a good draft and the players they sign are going to have to stay injury free, the Sharks should have 1 Stanley Cup already. And they need to address the goaltending situation.

Adin Hill proved to San Jose that Goaltending was not the primary problem. He won with Vegas because he had better skaters in front of him-both on offensive and defense. All of us who play hockey, know the goaltender is the last line of defense.
