If Alex Anzolone is sitting out and Jack is the only one being groomed to take over the "green dot" duties. He kinda has to play a lot of reps. Why waste them on a guaranteed cut.
JMO is a potential bust and Brads picks are starting to show what they areally are, Sewell, Amon Ra, Hutch and Branch are his best picks…the rest are still questionable.
We all know elite when we see it….Jack Campbell is going to be the soul of this team eventually barring injury. I'll go further and say he is going to be green dotting alongside Branch for the next five years following this season.
I think they wanted him to demonstrate that he can make the right calls as defensive QB. I think it's a live real-time test of his study of the playbook.

I don't think it's about the physical piece of playing, but the mental part. Get him experience understanding offensive plays, in the moment, live, at NFL speed and making adjustments.
He’ll be a starter for the next ten years in this league for the Detroit Lions. It doesn’t matter what games he starts this year, he’ll play significant snaps either way
I wouldn't expect a whole lot out of the gate, but he's a big boy that will plug some holes against the run. I think that's what you needed last year, no? Expect way, way more in Year 2, but year 1, he's plugging a hole in the defense.

I really don’t care what the other coaches and teams are doing. I trust what Dan is doing. Obviously keeping the boys healthy and making sure they’re ready is the goal. Let’s see what they do when it counts. Preseason is a joke (as far as the starters go) and we all know it. It’s about depth and development
