  1. is it just me or do any of you like watching the world juniors more than the olympics when canada is good?

  2. The players in the world juniors make a lot more mistakes than the pros which creates more offensive rushes and that makes it more exciting

  3. This was a bad hit from Rovere and he totally deserved the penalty, but I have to say I love the guy he just so hillarious sometimes. He's calmed down a lot since last year which is good and scored a goal last night to make it 8-2 over the Slovaks.

  4. Del Rovere is cheap and should have been suspended for this. Absolutley no room for this in the game of hockey. I have a friend that is parylized from the fricken neck down and the hit he took was not as bad looking as this one. Absolutley rediculous especially considering hes done this sht more than once. This video makes me fricken furious especially when there are people backing this donkey! I hope he gets what he deserves someday.

  5. I totally agree with you…. Canada is a classy and talented team they don't need douchebags like Della Rovere and Comrier on their team…. especially when they could as well send two number one candidate teams to world juniors.

  6. Yeah thats true. I'm not trying to dis Canada either. Just saying the States don't play shit hockey. Got lucky? Canada had to come from behind both games. Canada did get a pretty lucky one from Hall though. I must admit though we probably would've lost if Blais kept Lee in.

  7. Yeh i no what your sayin man, i truley thought that canada did play the better game in the gold medal but to be honest im almost happy canada lost, its not good for hockey or canada when you have a 1 country winning gold every year.

  8. Canada didn't really show up much early though. They did outplay us drastically in the last 10 minutes or so of the 3rd. We got a break in OT and the right guy had the puck.

  9. @NickPerryman18 so how's della rovere's career working out compared to shattenkirk? fuckin canucks, think they always know best when it comes to hockey. kid fuckin sucks.

  10. @sensi1985 he's playing in the AHL, which is common for players who are going to play in the NHL as a third line type of player and shut down top line players. So to answer your question, very well actually. where's shattenkirk?

  11. @hockeyprofit19 the only disagreement i have here is that the olympic team still won, and in this tournament we were missing 8 players cause their nhl teams wouldnt let them go. I dont know if the US had the same issue but if they did I'd like to know who was absent?

  12. @NickPerryman18 For a rookie 21 year-old defensemen called up from the AHL on short notice, those numbers are more than decent. That's not even mentioning his ice time, or his non-statistical skills. He's been great to watch, and with all of the pressure that's been put on him, he's responded very well.

Those numbers are decent for an offensive player. Taylor Hall only has one more goal, and he's played ten more games.

  13. @ebtricks oh no haha when i said decent i meant they were actually really good. I like the hall comparison cause I hate hall anyway lol

  14. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Yes, then Hall.

    Duchene in 30 games: 11 goals, 19 assists, 30 points, +8 +/-

    Hall in 30 games: 10 goals, 6 assists, 16 points, -5 +/-

Duchene is far better. Not to mention his foot speed is significantly faster, even though Hall is a great skater.

  15. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi When Duchene came to Colorado, the situation wasn't quite that different to when Hall went to Edmonton. Both franchises were losing heavily, both needed a revamp, and both needed younger players.

Duchene up to this point has been proven to be the better (NHL) player, both in skill and statistics, and I'm talking about his rookie year, too. As I said, Duchene's without a doubt the better skill player. Whether it's shooting, skating, playmaking, puckhandling; he's better.

  16. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi I like how you made an assumption and then criticized me for making assumptions. Duchene just has more of a skill set than Hall. Hall put up great numbers in the OHL, and he'll continue to in the NHL.

Will he exceed Duchene? At this pace, no. In a decade, who the hell knows? I hope it'll be Duchene, being an Avalanche fan. I just don't see Hall being as successful as people have recently predicted.

  17. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi I acknowledge any talent I see in the league, whether they're on my team or not. The fact that I'm arguing for Duchene against Hall is merely coincidence.

I love seeing upstarts like Doughty, Giroux, Kane, Stamkos, Crosby, ect… Hall for some reason doesn't tick for me. Even his teammate Jordan Eberle has impressed me more.

  18. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Skating? Are you serious? Duchene is one of the fastest players in the league. I've seen Hall's bursts, which are amazing at times, but it's rare to ever see a player move as quickly as Duchene. In a straight line, edging, behind the net, on the forecheck, everywhere he's faster. You must not watch him play very often to say that.

Shooting is difficult to compare, but I've seen both players shoot great. Duchene had a very slow start to the season, and just started picking up.

  19. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Hannan's a simple shut-down defensemen, Quincey is a complete ape with the puck, Liles was pretty mediocre in 08-09 and the beginning of 09-10, Stastny is and was a solid player, Anderson was a complete mystery and a former backup, Wolski was terribly inconsistent in all regards, Hedjuk has always been pretty solid for us, and there was no indication that Stewart would turn out the way he did.

The Avs made it work better, and that's due to better coaching and scouting.

  20. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi I know Hall is fast but as I said before, Duchene is one of if not THE quickest player(s) in the league. No one has ever seemed to have the speed the Duchene has on the rush while breaking the blue line. I know from watching the sport everyday, not just my team of preference.

If Hall really was a faster skater, I would have already admitted it. Duchene just has more jump in his step. Do you watch the Avalanche? If so, watch tomorrows game against Chicago and keep an eye on 9.

  21. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi At the beginning of the season, no. The whole team was a mess before the initial puck drop. Then they exploded. At the end of the season, yes. Players took a little while to develop and Sacco's coaching finally directed the team properly.

Andy was still unknown even if the skill was there, Hannan is great, but extremely simple, Quincey is a turnover machine, Liles is excellent this year, but was pretty inconsistent last year, and we didn't have much depth in the back-end.

  22. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Give me twenty players and I'll laugh away. If you think Hall is in that list, then your assessment would already be ridiculous.

  23. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi

Maybe, no, maybe, no, no, no, maybe, no, probably, no, no, no, maybe, maybe, maybe, no, maybe, maybe, no, no, maybe.

  24. @EyesOfTheSouthSTi I think you're just anti-Duchene, to which point you lose all of your credibility in arguing about him. I hate Hall and most of his fans, and I can admit that. I'm not going to pretend. By the way, where do you live and who is your favorite team?

All them are faster than Duchene? You must be a fucking moron. You said Spezza and Helm! How idiotic can it get?

  25. @sensi1985

haha. i love shattenkirk already. he has great vision. jury's still out on stefan.
