I know I’ve got the normal Wednesday show coming up in a few hours, but how could I not fire up the Rodecaster for a quick reaction episode of Better Lait Than Never to talk about the new Evan Bouchard contract?
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, the Edmonton Oilers and Evan Bouchard have reportedly come to terms on a two-year bridge contract at $3.9 million/season. From my side of the computer screen, this two-year deal is basically what I expected him to sign so I wasn’t exactly surprised when the details came out, but that was not necessarily the case for a lot of Oilers fans. When I asked for feedback on Twitter, the reaction was way more split than I expected but I guess that’s to be expected no matter what the final deal looked like. Frankly, there’s nothing better than arguing with fellow Nation Citizens about contracts, and I was very excited to break it all down on this quick reaction episode of BLTN. Oh, and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Hard seeing him sign 2 years and going to be even harder when we have to let him go when it’s up.
2mil too much, absolute liability on d. Given the same opportunities, anyone else would be just as effective offensively. Dude went nuclear in the playoffs. But that isn’t worth it
Basically cap hell for years to come.
Should have traded Bouch for a top 2 or 4 guy.
B is Uber soft, worst dman we have, and while good on the pplay, Nurse or Ekholm could do almost as well. Oilers should trade him at trade deadline if he can. I wish Bouch luck and good for him, but on a team where D play is the major problem, big mistake I would say . Hope like hell I am wrong !
Not sure what people expect? Oh, I know, lets trade away McD and Drai for futures and let go of Nurse and Ekholm while we're at it and go back to the decade of darkness where we challenged for the first overall pick year after year after year! Or….. would you rather be challenging for the Stanley Cup and be in cap hell? Just so you all know – you can't have both (i.e. lots of cap room AND be a Stanley Cup contender).
Fraudsaitl?😂😂 that guy is high lol
Wait the contract isn’t even done yet?
