Can the start of the NHL season get here any sooner? I, like many of you, have been struck with offseason boredom. To ease my boredom slightly I have been playing the recently trending Puckdoku (link to try it out: [https://www.puckdoku.com/](https://www.puckdoku.com/)). For those that haven’t played it, the concept is that you’re given a 3×3 grid with an NHL team representing each row and column. The goal is to chose an NHL player for each grid space that has played for both the row and column team of that space.
I’ve seen a custom rule that some people have added where they try and make it so every player they pick has played for the same team at one point, even if that team isn’t part of the grid. That got me thinking, how many possible spaces of every different team combination could be filled out by players that at one point played for the Kraken? So I got to work. I listed every single player that has played at least one regular or post season game for the Kraken, and then with each player, I listed the teams that they’ve played for so far in their career. The rules of Puckdoku state the players must have played a regular or post season game for the team for it to count, so I didn’t include the new Kraken signings as Kraken players or recent UFA Kraken players that signed with other teams as players for those teams (I might update this when the regular season starts).
I haven’t finished my “ultimate Kraken Puckdoku board” yet, but while doing this I was able to track how many players each NHL team has shared with the Kraken. Here’s what I found:
Anaheim Ducks: 3
Arizona Coyotes: 1
Boston Bruins: 5 (Tied for third most)
Buffalo Sabres: 3
Calgary Flames: 3
Carolina Hurricanes: 4
Chicago Blackhawks: 2
Colorado Avalanche: 3
Columbus Blue Jackets: 2
Dallas Stars: 1
Detroit Red Wings: 3
Edmonton Oilers: 4
Florida Panthers: 4
Los Angeles Kings: 1
Minnesota Wild: 4
Montreal Canadiens: 2
Nashville Predators: 4
New Jersey Devils: 3
New York Islanders: 3
New York Rangers: 1
Ottawa Senators: 3
Philadelphia Flyers: 1
Pittsburgh Penguins: 7 (First most)
San Jose Sharks: 6 (Second most)
St. Louis Blues: 3
Tampa Bay Lightning: 3
Toronto Maple Leafs: 3
Vancouver Canucks: 3
Vegas Golden Knights: 1
Washington Capitals: 5 (Tied for third most)
Winnipeg Jets: 3

**Random Fun Facts:**
45 total players have played in a regular or post season game for the Kraken.
The team that the Kraken have shared the most players with is the Pittsburg Penguins with a total of 7 players. Those players being: Jared McCann, Brandon Tanev, Daniel Sprong, Riley Sheahan, Jamie Oleksiak, Justin Schultz, and Derrick Pouliot.
I found that there are 3 players that have only played for the Kraken. Those being rookies Matty Beniers, Shane Wright, and Tye Kartye.
The most teams played for by a (former) Kraken player is a tie at 6 teams between Riley Sheahan and Derrick Pouliot. Sheahan has played for DET, PIT, FLA, EDM, BUF, SEA and is currently a UFA so he could add another team to the list this upcoming season. Pouliot has played for PIT, VAN, STL, VGK, SEA, SJS and is currently signed with DAL so he could add them to the list, bringing his total to 7 as long as he gets to play an NHL game for them.
If we were to count the new Kraken acquisitions, Brian Dumoulin would add another player for PIT, Kailer Yamamoto would add one for EDM, and Pierre-Edouard Bellmare would add one for PHI, VGK, COL, and TBL.
If we were to count former Kraken players who have signed to new teams but have yet to play a game with them, we could add a player to BOS (Geekie), CHI (Donato), DET (Sprong), DAL (Pouliot), FLA (True), NYI (Kuhlman), TOR (Jones), and VAN (Soucy).

Hopefully this was interesting to a few people. There hasn’t been much Kraken content recently, so sometimes you have to make your own. Sorry for any poor formatting or wording, as well as any researching mistakes. There’s a good chance I made some somewhere. If you’d like to know which Kraken players played for other teams or have any other questions, feel free to ask and I’d be happy to answer.
