I’m curious about something… I get that there are banners for winning the conference and winning The Cup. but is there an actual award handed out by the league to the four teams that finish first in their division? Or is it just an honorable mention? Does every team who finishes the regular season at the top of their division raise a banner for it? I feel like Boston hanging a banner for a division “championship” last season might actually be a little embarrassing.
It kinda seems like something that everyone started doing so teams could decorate their rafters rather than an actual award.
