Pat Maroon slewfoot on Derek Ryan – Tough Call Suspension Recommendation
Pat Maroon simply took out a player behind the play in one of the most dangerous ways possible. And all he has to show for it is a minor penalty. Not in my league.

My read on the above is that the player has to "fall violently to the ice". Arguably Ryan doesn't fall violently because he channels his inner cat and manages to twist and fall on his side. In Canadian minor hockey, the "violent" part is absent and refs can call slew-footing as a double-minor or a match.

Derek Ryan was lucky that he did not get hurt, that was a dirty play and slew for sure

Definitely dirty a slewfoot and interference but not even close to the puck

Absolutely horrible! Life imprisonment with no parole!
they don't give a crap about player safety… :/ he did another slewfoot on McDavid and I don't think he even got a fine.
Some players can get away with anything, and some can’t, there should be a penalty box for the refs 😂
