Thanks for fixing that banner. Would’ve drove me nuts, lol.
As far as Compher as our 2C: How I see it is look around the league and at their top 2 centers. Compare them to ours. Larkin is a great 2C, slightly below average 1C.
Compared to the rest of the 2C’s in the league, Compher is at the bottom.
Our top 2 centers are comparable to the worst teams in the league. A team can get by like this for short stretches and find some success, but not the entire season. We basically need Compher to have an even better career year, Copp to have a career year or Rasmussen to somehow take off and become that 2C we drafted him to be. (Casper still needs developing and will likely play wing for a year or 2 first, and Veleno is a 4th liner/13th forward type)
Until we address this, I don’t see us having long term success. Here’s to hoping Stevie has a massive deal coming in the next year or 2 for a top center. An Eichel type deal that’ll be his masterpiece.
why cant sprong get 20 goals again if he plays say 15 mins per game
Compher last season played first liner minutes and had a defensive WAR of 99%. We might be underestimating how good Compher is.
