Stutzle, Peterka, & Reichel: The Top 2020 German Prospects

Being German myself, I have a great passion for seeing players come out of Deutschland to play in the NHL. Seider had last season, but now it is time for these 3 young forwards to shine. Tim Stutzle, John-Jason Peterka, and Lukas Reichel. Love these guys 🙂

Enjoy!

  1. Idk why but I just find it funny that Lukas Reichel has a cousin (Kristian Reichel) who is Czech 😀

Edit: Ik his dad has Czech/Germany dual citizenship and his uncle is also Czech)

  2. I've been high on Stutzle for quite a while now. If I'm the Red Wings and don't get 1st or 2nd overall, I'm picking Stutzle. We need a definitive 2nd line center who can push Larkin for 1C, and there's no doubt in my mind this kid can be it. Plus what other team would have the balls to pick him 3rd overall, or in that range, other than the team that just picked Moritz Seider 6th overall. If it's not Lafreniere, then if I'm Stevie I'm not picking a winger. My list of best available goes Lafreniere, Byfield, Stutzle.

  3. Also Elite Prospects has him listed 5'11 165, but in the Future Considerations Fall 2020 Draft Rankings that just came out on November 1st, it has him listed 6'1 185, and I've seen other pages dated October and later with all different weights around 180. So it's kinda hard to be exactly sure what his weight and height really is.

  4. Max Glötzl and Simon Gnyp are other good ones. For ‘03 Justin Büsing could be one to keep an eye on.

  5. According to me the difference between the canada hockey (or other big hockey country) and german hockey are really not the same thats why i think that the german prospect are nothing… sorry

    Sorry for my english*

  6. Thanks man can agree absolutely on what you say. In the DEL we say if you want to see Reichel, Stützle and Peterka you should go watch a game this Season coz after this Season they all propably gone overseas

  7. The whole Red Bull development program in Germany and Austria is a bit complicated (they built that up in soccer too with Leipzig instead of Munich): You have one big club in Germany (Munich), one big in Austria (Salzburg) and one small in Austria (Liefering). As soon as you are in the system, it gets decided where you fit in best. So if you play pretty well in Liefering, they will probably send you to Salzburg. If you're good there, they put you to Munich, since the DEL is better than the EBEL of Austria. Very often it doesn't work this linear: When you are from Germany, obviously you first go to a Munich youth team and if they think you are not ready yet for the first team they send you to Salzburg or Liefering for your development. It's a bit strange but that's how things are.

  8. What I think what should pointed out on Stützle is his good work back in the defense.
He is almost everytime one of the forwards who come back immediately when the opponent comes to the d-zone.
Unfortunaly I can't remember when he missplayed a pass but recovered it by himself by going down and poking the puck away from the opponent. That was just hilarious to watch^^

  9. Good players. What a shame that dont play for us (Czech Republic) I mean Peterka,Reichel and Ancicka.

  10. I honestly hope the wings draft all 3 lol love the germans for soccer and hockey

  11. If hes the next Draisaitl hes 2nd overall people get their hopes up too much. Leon is INSANE I think Tim will be dirty but Draisaitl? That's gonna be tough

  12. Your player analysis videos are simply awesome. Thanks for your breakdowns and the work you must put into finding (never mind editing together) all that obscure video. And let’s just say I’ll be paying very close attention as my sens approach the draft that (hopefully!) takes place this July. I’m looking for a particle physicist or nobel prize-winning mathematician who can help me calculate the probability of the Sens picking 1-2-3 if the standings remain with them, San Jose and NYI at 2,3 and 15. 😀 seriously, if we could get Stutzle and another top 5 (Rossi?!) I’d be thrilled (though that may be a slightly undersized tandem). And lets not forget EK65 was drafted #15. It’s gonna be a fun draft for us dreamers.
