The 2 BEST NHL Prospects That NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT (They’re Better Than TUUKKA RASK) Hockey News 2020



In this video, we’re going to be venturing into the world of NHL prospects, specifically into the land of goaltending. Now, there are a ton of great goalie prospects in hockey, from guys like Yaroslav Askarov in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Cayden Primeau for the Montreal Canadiens, Michael DiPietro for the Vancouver Canucks, Igor Shestyorkin for the New York Rangers, Ilya Sorokin on the Islanders, and Ilya Samsonov with the Washington Capitals. However, the Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche have two goaltending prospects who are, in my opinion, severely underrated to the point where no one talks about them, despite the fact that their 19-year-old seasons in Finland were better than Tuukka Rask’s U20 year several years ago.

Let’s talk about Justus Annunen and Lukas Dostal.

    I think that these guys not being in the top goaltending prospects talked about just goes to show how biased our sports media in North America is to players from North America. They definitely should be in the conversation more

    Tuuka rask is good but he has had one of the most dissapointing careers of all time in regards to the results. He was the goalie when boston choked the 3-0 lead. He was the goalie when they lost in the finals to the hawks and the blues. Im pretty sure he got lit up in some big world championships and olympics games too.

    AVs are well aware of Annunen. With Grubauer & Francouz tandem leading to the 5th best GA in the league, they can be patient for a few years when their contracts end about the same time.

    Dostal was my home team’s goalie for 2 seasons. I absolutely love him. Was such a clear number 1 for us even though Kolppanen, our second, played in the KHL previously. Dostal’s vision is insane. He seldom needs to make any incredible saves, because he seems to be one step ahead of the opposition. Im going to cheer for him in the NHL, he is going to be a star

    I have to strongly disagree with the statement about Dostal leaping around like a soccer goalie. Ive watched him 1,5 seasons and in this time he passed the puck to the opposing team, but other than that he is extremely calculated.

    Annunen played in best team in finland so its easier to be good

    I remember Rask in Jr sm liiga in the playoffs. He was either 17 or just turned 18. In 10 games he had 9 wins, 6 of them shutouts. Gaa of 0.87 and .973 save percent. That's crazy

    Despite Annunen's save percentage 0.001 better, he only about played half games as Dostal. That's why he's the best goaltender of Liiga last year. Dostal is definitely the better one right now.
