That’s a super solid lineup. Hopefully the all mesh well with each other. I could really see them as a playoff team if they win some games they’re not supposed to win.

  2. doubeljack

I’d much rather see Maatta in the lineup and Chiarot scratched.

  3. Scary_Property_6195

is this a playoff team? (newer hockey fan)

  4. Wakattack00

These are the same D pairings I predicted earlier today. Not gonna lie, I hate seeing Ras at 4C. I hate it a lot. He’s evolved past that part of his career.

  5. redlion1904

    This is quite wrong.

Rasmussen will not be on the bottom line. Fischer probably won’t either.

  6. SinceSevenTenEleven

Not a big fan of Rasmussen at 4C. Id rather him at wing and see someone below him pushed out of the lineup, and another depth player at center on the fourth line. Dunno how we went from having too many centers to not having enough for Ras to play wing, but I guess that’s what upgrades can do.

Also not a fan of Maataa being scratched, would much rather it be one of Petry/Chiarot/Holl. Hopefully Lalonde is willing to scratch the worst player regardless of contract once the season starts. Maybe the competition will make them all stronger. We shall see.

You’d think that given this is the NHL Network, this would be more accurate and less sucktacular.

The idea with this team I’m betting is to role 4 lines of what I would call 3 3rd lines and a fringe 1st line.

I actually love that and with our scratches and prospect’s knocking on the door we are deep with NHL players not just fringe NHLers.

Maybe not a playoff team but we can definitely sustain our record and not just fall flat after the 1st couple months if injuries (god forbid) happen.

Very satisfied with what moves he’s made. All that sticks out is maybe Durzi over are other moves on the backend before he got traded. It’s a gamble on the upside though.

what we need is a stabilizing team while our prospects develop to carry the future offensive needs. Imagine a team of this in 2-3 years time.

    Ras-Larkin-Debrincat

    Berggren-Kasper-Raymond

    Lombardi-Compher-Muzar

    Hanas/Kostin-Copp-Danielson/Free Agent

    Walman-Seider

    Edvinsson-ASP

    Wallander-Johansson

    Husso/free agent-Cossa

Now with that all mentioned it comes with a lot of luck that our guys hit including Raymond,Berggren,Ras and every other player that isn’t on our current roster.

Pretty much if they don’t hit and say Lombo is a fringe player same with muzar Johansson Wallander not stepping in the lineup. ASP struggles along with Eddy.

Yzerman wouldn’t of drafted these guys if he didn’t think they had something and quite honestly I trust his judge of character. I’m actually pretty pleased with what his done with what he’s had.

Realistically these next couple years people will be very Judgmental with how our team continues to play wether good or bad.

I’m not sure how hard our pool will or won’t hit at all obviously I think it will hit not saying hard but I believe most of the guys mentioned will be NHL players. Also I didn’t even mention Soderblom

Now vs the past 5 years this next 5 will no doubt be more Entertaining and interesting then the past 5.

Let’s hope for the best and believe

  9. Old_kernel

Offense is ok definitely 2nd last in the Atlantic but the defense is gonna be pure chaos

  10. BellsBeerBestBeer

I kind of don’t think that’s how things will play out, but looking at this I feel a lot better about the team than I have since we last made the playoffs.

  11. champagneofbeers14

I see Berggren and Perron being too similar of players for that line to have much production. I’d much prefer a second line of Berggren – Kasper – Ras. I think Fabbri fits with Perron and Copp or Compher. I don’t know enough about Sprong Kostin and Fisher to know how they will fit but I hope they bring physicality

  12. jackstalke

Would really rather see Ras as a 3rd or 2nd line winger. He played his way off the 4th some time ago.

  13. Langwaa12

I believe Ras has something to say about being a 4th liner..

  14. justin34berg

Ras cannot be on the 4th line, and maatta needs to play. Maatta is very solid defensively

  15. MikeLitoris_________

I’ve said it before, I’m not convinced that all of these players are still going to be in Detroit on opening night. There’s a very real chance that Kasper and/or Edvinsson make the team out of camp.

  16. _Kramerica_

Wow I uhh hate a lot of this as do a lot of others it seems. Ras drove so much offense last year and it was clear that his presence was missed when he got injured. To psh him as bottom 6 in any role is a slap in the face. He earned 2nd line winger in my mind and I’ve never been a big believer in him. Chiarot 2nd pairing? Vomit. Maatta scratched? Vomit. Veleno not playing on our banger 4th line? Vomit. Weird projections all around.

  17. Moose-Larkin-Cat

    Raymond-Copp-Perron

    Fabbri-Compher-Sprong

    Kostin-Veleno- Fischer

    Walman-Seider

    Maata-Holl

    Gostisbhere-Petry

  18. some1337

I’m surprised they got Petry’s number right but couldn’t be bothered to look up the rest of the new guys. Feels lazy.

  19. MikeLitoris_________

Maybe an unrelated observation, but the Wings still have the same problem they had for most of the 2000’s. They’re small-ish overall. Maybe not on D, but the forward group is tiny by modern NHL standards.

It would be tough for any NHL team to compete when five of your top six, are six foot or smaller.

    The team needs a bruiser.

  20. travisb145

No way Ras is 4C, I think he plays wing on the 2nd line. No way Ray and Cat are on the same line they’re going to get bullied on a nightly basis
