    Nick Kypreos is a hack, sucked as a player and would never be able to play in the league today. The NHL can't be taken seriously as a league until they call obstruction and cheap plays.

    The Leafs are a bunch of wimps who'll get pushed around more and more as the season goes on. Leafs need some tough guys. And where's Nylander hiding out? The Seven-Million-Dollar Man isn't showing up for the games; 3 points this season; he may end up with eight goals and twelve assists, if he starts playing; marvellous! Dubas is an idiot.

    Carolina is giving up both Hamilton and ferland up before the deadline I feel like if Calgary can get ferland back and or Hamilton for James Neal who isn’t producing with some type of pick would be great for Calgary lol

    Kypreos was a goon himself. Take everything he says about enforcers with a grain of salt. Not even an Edmonton fan nor do I think that was a suspension but you’d be lying if you tell me the NHL cares about its stars. How many have we lost due to concussions in the past 2 decades? Anyone that isn’t a hockey fan and watches those hardest hockey hits are disturbed by how hard players hit and how they go solely for the head. Accidents do happen but we need to work towards preventing these accidents.

    I've watched countless interviews with players talking about dealing with a good fast player. They all essentially say the same thing "I can't do better than him so I hold him, slash him so he can't get away and get away with it" he said it in this video too. That's a bad mindset to have because top quality players risk career ending injuries over an over because the penalties are few and far between.

    "Not suspendable" says the ever brain dead idiot Kypreos. Its been happening and happening for my whole life. Notice it only got worse when Hitchcock did the right thing and called this type of pathetic reffing out publicly last week. Foreseeing that was easy since that is the standard pattern from the NHL ref joke club. Even with vid replays, no matter how blatant they fack that up, they can claim " an angle the one one else can see", yet are NEVER required to show that angle. Guys like nick always excusing blatant shet reffing as if he needs them to buy his drinks. Nick totally ignores that McDavid DOES NOT get the same reffing every other player benefits from. BTW, Only severe morons start every sentence with "LOOK", and "Listen", and parrot "moving forward" every 3rd sentence. Grow up you fools.

    There is no question. Should have been a penalty . Not enough calls that should be. And kypreos talks out of both sides of his mouth. Rogers holds the NHL contract. So you are not going to hear anything too negative.

    It’s not worth a suspension. But why wasn’t there a penalty? The ref was standing right there. And where the hell was lucic? Isn’t that useless f**k paid 6 million a year to take care of s**t like that. He can’t score a goal the very least he can do is get in a fight and send a message to the guys messing with McDavid.

    Why cant all star players be like ovi and be a man about it. Ovi gets hit and he'll hit you back harder. In fact the more you hit him the greater he is.

    The whole protect your stars thing is so overrated and is only real when it comes to hockey writers making a living. There is no incentive for teams to have a goon or a player solely there to protect players. Penalties cost teams games. Plain and simple. Who was there to protect Crosby, Ovechkin, Kane, Doughty, Kucherov, Stamkos, Malkin, Seguin, Benn, Hall, Mackinnon or Karlesson? I could go on and name countless NHL stars on the last 15 years. I swear that the only reason they always talk about protecting Mcdavid is because he has a visibly thinner frame compared to bigger NHL players. He's 6'1'' and almost 200 lbs and in the peak fitness level of his life. He's probably bigger, stronger and taller than (you) most people reading this. This narrative has not been true in 25 years and not really worth talking about unless you work in hockey media.

    So sick of these NHL lackeys like Kypreos and Shannon defending the refs and the league at every turn.
    The reffing this season has been nothing short of embarrassing for the league. Star players get mugged on a nightly basis with no calls, then someone like Marchand or Tkachuk flops on a nothing play and that draws a penalty….you have to dive or act hurt to get calls. Which just doesnt fit with the culture of hockey, the sport will never recover if it goes full soccer dramatics.

    It's funny how the hockey elite giving the okay nod to this reckless style of contact which does not fit the criteria of body checking in hockey, are former players who have had there own careers ended by the same type of reckless contact. Body checking is fun and it's the beautiful nature of the game and i don't ever wanna see it leave. But it has to be controlled and sanctioned better than it is now. Why do you need to turn the body check into a mortal combat fatality, or hit them so hard that they die. Plays like the above that can really hurt a player or body checks that are needlessly hard and stiff, to the point where the goal of checking a player is superseded by the goal of maiming them must be removed if this game is to continue to be marketable for future growth. All players are susceptible to injury when they are in vulnerable positions regardless of frame or physical make up. UFC had to clean up, my game needs to do the same.

    If you have a C or an A on your jersey or are a star player. Keep your head up. Hockey maybe fully sterlized and neutered by George Parros and the department of player safety but there is still a little bit of grit and emotion left. On record for lowest fights in NHL history. Hitting is being heavily over penalized. It's getting play doe soft up there in the NHL and even AHL now.

    It was a dangerous hit…borderline dirty…there should be no cross checks allowed within 10 feet of he boards…auto penalty if done…like the high sticks!
