Why wasn't he penalized on the ice? The league see's that the play was terrible. Why were the refs blind to what he did to Brandon Carlo.

What a f•••••• joke. They should have suspended that joker for the rest of this season and the next, with a big fine. He wants to be just like Matt Cooke. Put somebody's hockey career to a end.
What advantage is it to have Wilson in the league?It is the same story every time.Why not just kick him out of the league.Make a real statement for the betterment of the league.
I don't mean to be flippant about this but, has Wilson had a psychological evaluation regarding his lack of concern for the safety of his opponents? Perhaps he has been concussed too many times himself.
There are a lot of players in the league who are hard hitters, and make their living as checkers. There are players in this league of make their living as tough guys. But how many of them consistently get suspended by endangering their fellow players. If the NHL is SERIOUS about player safety, guys like Tom Wilson (who regularly put other players in danger with plays outside the rules), should be kicked out of the league. I LIKE hard hitting players. I like fighting in hockey. But Wilson is consistent in his ability to hit players in bad situations. Player safety requires the league create a three strike rule. 3 illegal plays that injure a player and you are out of the league… end of story. I think this rule would only affect a dozen or so players in the league… guys like Wilson and Marchand would have to smarten up or be out of the league. Look at a guy like Brandon Tanev, of the Penguins (used to play for the Jets). He's one of the top hitters in the league, and has under 10 PIM in 24 games (at the time of this post). You can hit players without being cheap and taking penalties. Wilson cannot.. that's why he should no longer be in the league. How many times has he been suspended for a cheap hit in his career? Enough to get thrown out of the league IF the NHL really cared about player safety.

Sorry but this league has always been and always will be second tier. Until they treat each player the same and call the games equitably to the rules and not adjust to fit their inconsistencies. This type of hit happens every night. The difference being Wilson and only a few other players have the size, strength, and body mechanics to hit this hard.. How can four refs concur on ice after the play and agree there was no foul only to suspend after the whining starts. The hit was a hard hockey play. The player wasn't defenseless. This suspension came down from the Board of Governors not the DOPS. The NHL is a joke. Take hits an fights out of the game to match what the league has become. Pussy sport.
