I moved my parents to a new house and found this gem in my box of Avs stuff from my childhood- they went to that very first game against our dreaded rivals. So fun to dive back in – other highlights, a Peter Forsberg Jello box (haha), and a Joe Sakic Nordiques rookie card (umm, how did I forget about this?).

I watched this game on ESPN. I went to bed after the second period, because the Red Wings were winning 2-0. At the time, they were the dominant team in the West, so I assumed they would win. I woke up to find that the Avs won 3-2. A pleasant surprise.
