We have ourselves some new updates on the Vancouver Canucks and their situations with Loui Eriksson and contract extensions. According to sources, it appears that the Canucks don’t want to add a sweetener to a potential Loui Eriksson trade, keeping him back on the squad for now.
As for Chris Tanev, it appears that the Pittsburgh Penguins really want to add him onto their squad to play alongside younger brother Brandon Tanev.
This all comes after the Canucks got eliminated from the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights.
The 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs are involving sixteen teams, which are the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, and Columbus Blue Jackets in the East, and the Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, Vegas Golden Knights, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, and Dallas Stars in the West.
The final matchup is the Dallas Stars VS Tampa Bay Lightning at the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Vegas Golden Knights got eliminated by the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals in Game 5, and the New York Islanders were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6.
Of the Conference Semi-Final matchups, the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, and Philadelphia Flyers have been eliminated.
The eliminated teams of the 2020 NHL Playoffs from the qualifying play-in series are the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Florida Panthers.
Teams eliminated from the first round of the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, and the Washington Capitals.

Looks like the Canucks are going to get gutted this off season. Probably losing Markstrome, Tanev, Tofoli, for nothing in return for sure as they don't have the money or term to offer to these players. The only chance of them staying is on a one year deal which seems very unlikely for players of that vintage. They will likely lose Fantenburg, Stetcher, Mott and Virtanen but might get something in return for those players. That is the price you pay for going all in this playoff and not moving those players. It was a gutsy move on Jim Bennings part and i liked it, it damn near worked. If not for the only deficiency that lingered from the regular season, that being they didn't straighten out their break out problem, they may have still been playing hockey now. All of that is up in the air as this Hoax-o-virus horseshit doesn't seem to be going away and there is no chance that you are going to have a season without bums in the seats. They just are not going to be able to make that much money off T.V. rights to pay those players. So unless they get the bums back in the seats all of this speculation is for not.
knew it won't come true. What a joke
Chiarelli is not in the league anymore so you're gonna have to add sweetener.
Jet woo Erickson and strech for the red wings 5 th. Full 6 million to Detroit
Good. We can eat Erickson's cap hit for two years and shouldn't do him any favors. Losing our UFAs ain't the end of the world. Tanev is going to be a diminishing asset as soon as next season and we might lose Marky to UFA with or without Erickson.
Let Markstrom go. He you can sign a 1b to mentor Demko. You need to resign Tanev. This offseason will dictate Benning's legacy in Vancouver
wow a 5 year deal from the Pens, I do not want Benning to offer Tanev a 5 year deal, that would be a mistake, he would probably get about 5.5 to 6 mill a year too. 3 years for sure but any more, he needs to let him go. I love Tanev, he is my favourite D but 5 years would have to be a hard no for the Canucks.
trading loui without a sweetener means you're getting a bad contract back.
It’s minor but I do enjoy the eashl gameplay better than what you normally play
If you want to be a good GM in the league. You have to learn from your mistakes. First it takes admittance, then how do I fix it, source dour some assistance when possible and then do it. Benning is like a guy who goes to an AA meeting every week but never admit he’s a alcoholic. His ego is too big.
It takes one helluva sweetener to make a team acquire a fourth liner that would be among their highest paid players. Even Willy Wonka couldn’t sweeten THAT deal enough!
Nobody wants him Lou
Why not ask Ericksson and the team mutually part ways and he goes to Europe? or is that silly?
Don’t forget Tanev straight up said he was willing to wait until after Markstrom was signed. The Canucks not making him an offer already is an absolute non-story.
I hope we don’t lose tanev. We would have to replace him anyways and add another dman
What do you think of Oilers Adam Larsson and this years 1st, for Markstrom and Virtanen assuming nucks can sign them first? I know the likelihood of this happening is slim to none, just curious what you think
Then choke on his contract Benning.
Legorocks wont pin this comment
Was Benning drunk when he said he would not add a sweetener in an Eriksson trade? Enjoy the next 2 years of Loui Vancouver fans.

screw the 3rd rnd pick 2021 add carson focht
We can’t lose step loui😔
Man give us Virtanen and we would gladly take him 😀
Lego said we would know who we gonna sign in week it’s been a week.🤦♂️🤦♂️. Lol.
Benning better not sign Galchenyuk. Joulevi might be top 4 and Rafferty could be top 6. This leaves the D core to be Edler, Hughes, Stetcher, Myers, Benn, Joulevi, and Rafferty or Fanta if he resigns.
Who would be stupid enough to take Ericsson without at least a draft pick.
Not sure what Benning is smoking. No sweetner = NO TRADE. I guess he'll be in Utica for the next 2 years. As for Tanev, it's too bad that if they aren't going to sign him, that they trade his rights to get something back. 3rd or 4th round pick? Sign me up.
Just found another hockey channel, had to subscribe
Pure stupidity. The Canucks dont have much time before huge contracts have to be made for a lot of guys. Erickson needs to go and it should be at all costs.
As a nucks fan I’d LOVE to see Loui leave. Sry
To move Eriksson at this point would take a first buys yr 1 and Jake would buy yr 2 of Eriksson contract but hear teams are asking for Demko instead of Jake
Lol. Pointless to try then….
Without Tanev, Nux goalies wont look remotely as good… I guess reality check is on its way next season.
Loui is as useless, period. Myers is the next useless Canuck, trade him too! 'Big Useless'
I’m still very confused as to what in the hell you are saying at the end of each video. It’s all literally gibberish to me
Everyone is in love with Tanev, because of the heart. This is pro sports friends, not a little family business. Tanev is about to fall off a cliff with the wear and tear on his body.
No sweetener? The definition of insanity has been upstaged.
No sweetener, hahahaha guess you can keep em
Getting rid of Tanev is a mistake, he's a phenomenal mentor for Hughes and is a warrior for that team. He ticks all the boxes, Blocks shots, great defensive awearness, and is a leader on that team
Of course Loui Eriksson won't be added with a sweetener. His nickname is Sweetness after all.
When nobody is looking, why not just throw Eriksson off a bridge somewhere?
Loui eriksson keep him he to good
